OkieInTexas 1 Post Dec 5, 2014 Hi! I'm applying for the 2015 accelerated nursing at UTHSC as well. Already submitted my TEAS and am still waiting for CAS to verify my application. I'm pretty nervous, my GPA is pretty good and I did okay on the TEAS, considering I was sick with a stomach bug the day before and really dehydrated. Thanks for starting this post! It will be fun to find out who will get in, and maybe get to know some people before it starts!

If you are looking for a roommate or have had good experiences with apartment communities there I'd love suggestions. Good luck everyone!

If I understand correctly according the the website, the pre-req course must be taken before the program begins. Does this sound accurate?

Does this sound accurate? That was my understanding since the website uses intro to psychology and sociology as examples and only says math and science courses must be completed before applying. I completed all of my prerequisites before applying but that's just bc the timing worked out.

lalapenna 57 Posts Jan 16, 2015 I am super surprised! Also, has anyone taken a look at the schedules for the current cohort (Fall 2014 and Spring 2015)? Yikes. Still, I am already getting antsy about waiting until mid-February to hear from admissions.
KatiaOrtega 14 Posts Jan 16, 2015 I've been looking for a thread like this! I applied for Summer 2015 also and I'm super anxious for mid February! I have an okay GPA and I got an 86 on the TEAS so not really sure where I stand.
lalapenna 57 Posts Jan 16, 2015 Hi Katia, 86 sounds like a good TEAS score! I'm feeling pretty ok about where I stand based on passed admissions profiles (I have a math/science GPA of 3.33, an overall GPA of 3.65, and I got a 95 on the TEAS), but I'm a little nervous because I have no nursing or medical experience. I was not expecting that first question on the supplemental app! I had been to an information session and have talked to a bunch of people who applied in the past and I was really under the impression they did not look at your job/volunteer experience. Oh well!
sbgldneag 65 Posts Jan 18, 2015 I've applied to the accelerated program as well and scored a 92 on the TEAS. I was also told volunteer and work experience didn't matter (which I believe was even brought up at the info session I went to). I don't have nursing or medical work experience, but I have some volunteer experience. Has anyone started any of the vaccines or titers just in case?
