UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

Published

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

Where on the HESI report did you find your score for the CT part and did you have to send in a transcript of your test score to admissions

I found out after my hesi assessment on the computer during my proctored exam. And the test score is sent automatically. Another student posted that it is received at the end of the month you took your hesi.

Congratulations! Was it in your acceptance email? Do you mind sharing your scores and if you have pending classes?

My stats are:

GPA: 4.0 prereqs, 4.0 science, ~3.9 overall

Hesi: 92 with 800 CT ( i have no idea what they will ask in CT portion beforehands, so i didnt score very high:dead:)

No previous degree, no experience

Thanks JAYC! For some reason it never showed up on my report so I guess I will give them a call.

Thank you. I'm still taking a few prereqs. Looking fwd to learning with you all. Good luck to those who are waiting

Thanks for the feedback y'all!

I got my transcript evaluation a few weeks ago and have been trying to get a hold of someone in admissions to talk about it. They said some prereqs don't count when I know for a fact they should (two history classes). So far I've emailed the main soninfo and admissions email addresses but haven't heard anything back yet. Any suggestions on what to do?

I still haven't heard anything. I am trying to wait patiently and hope for good news

My stats:

3.5 Prereqs

3.75 Science

HESI Overall 86.40% (which isn't that great) with 850 CT

Personality: Creative/People

Learning: Cognitive/Analytical

Salamin, same thing happened to me. I got my transcript evaluation two weeks ago, and they didn't count almost 20 credit hours.

They didn't count A&P 1 and 2, sociology, and logic (I took those classes this past summer). Also, AP exam for Intro psyc that I took back in high school was not included, and microbiology that I took from my major (I go to A&M, and I took Biomedical Microbiology) wasn't included (b/c of different course name). I emailed the admissions/soninfo and never got back from them. I called five days later, but she said they were short-handed and were in the process of updating everything. I waited another week and finally called again two days ago. She pulled up my account and found my transcript from Blinn College. They never added the courses I took from there!! She finally fixed everything. I suggest you go ahead and call the admissions office!

I was frustrated because I never even had a chance to fix my transcript evaluation because I never got them until two weeks ago. I am kinda scared that it would be too late :-(

My stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Pre-Nursing GPA: 3.86

HESI: 89%

By the way, congrats to everyone who got accepted!!!!!! :-)

Jay c were exactly are you viewing that info bc I try to log on to view my financial aid and it's not taking my info. I am more towards ut bc like I said I am not getting any younger. I have a 4.0 GPa in science and 3.9 overall hesi was 86.9 overall ct 850

Thanks everyone for the feed back really appreciate it
