UTHSC Summer 2017

Published

Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

Another one said there was a guy in her cohort that got in his 8th time applying.

Now that is dedication:up:

Wishful thinking... No, it's what they say when the admissions board is "in session" and phones are on detour so they can actually process decisions paperwork. LOL

Will "processing documents" show up in the place of the complete green circle?

Ok, thanks! I was trying to find it in the portal, lol. My nerves are trying to get the best of me, lol.

Anyone who's applied in previous semesters willing to share what the admissions decision email sounds like? I'm just curious to know whether they'll tell you in the email if you've gotten in or not or if you have to wait to open the portal.

You have to wait to open the portal, the symbol in your application status is the answer.

I know I've said this a million times but just trying to share my knowledge! when I was waitlisted, I received an email that said "we regret to inform you...." it was from JoAnn Mendoza and was titled "Waitlist Status Notification" Hope this helps! I'm assuming all notifications will come from JoAnn Mendoza this time too.

My sister got in the program last year and I asked her to send me the email they sent her, here it is

Any one else feeling more discouraged as the time passes?

I unfortunately am and it's making me looking into other options.

Looking into ADN programs, even though it is almost triple the time to go for ADN and bridge RN-BSN - than just getting into a BSN program.

I am still planning on taking my TEAS after spring break, and apply to some other schools as back up.

Andrea, I got discouraged slightly last time, however, I just made myself a more viable candidate and went ahead with additional applications. Right now, I'm waiting to hear from 3 schools, and at 2 it seems as though I have a good shot. As a matter fact, I was put at ease when 1 school emailed me this afternoon that I had a Status Update, I've been processed and assigned a value for their ranking, and that calmed me so much!!! It's like, oh look! They care! They are telling me I'm totally awesome and moving forward... any news is better than no news~!

Not too discouraged since I have applications into 3 schools at this time with UTHSC being the only Summer start. Since the deadline was a month later than normal I don't expect them to be on the same schedule as semesters past. It's barely been a month since our application deadline, so just give it time. The other two programs had the same deadline and I won't hear from UTA until mid April.

I am going to start applying for the fall as well since the deadline is approaching and no one still heard anything. Do you guys know if I have to send my transcripts and HESI scores again, or do I have to just do the application?

Thank you!!!

During the tour someone asked that question. She said as long as nothing has changed, you don't have to send them again because they are on file
