Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
I know I've said this a million times but just trying to share my knowledge! when I was waitlisted, I received an email that said "we regret to inform you...." it was from JoAnn Mendoza and was titled "Waitlist Status Notification" Hope this helps! I'm assuming all notifications will come from JoAnn Mendoza this time too.
My sister got in the program last year and I asked her to send me the email they sent her, here it is

Any one else feeling more discouraged as the time passes?
I unfortunately am and it's making me looking into other options.
Looking into ADN programs, even though it is almost triple the time to go for ADN and bridge RN-BSN - than just getting into a BSN program.
I am still planning on taking my TEAS after spring break, and apply to some other schools as back up.
Andrea, I got discouraged slightly last time, however, I just made myself a more viable candidate and went ahead with additional applications. Right now, I'm waiting to hear from 3 schools, and at 2 it seems as though I have a good shot. As a matter fact, I was put at ease when 1 school emailed me this afternoon that I had a Status Update, I've been processed and assigned a value for their ranking, and that calmed me so much!!! It's like, oh look! They care! They are telling me I'm totally awesome and moving forward... any news is better than no news~!

Not too discouraged since I have applications into 3 schools at this time with UTHSC being the only Summer start. Since the deadline was a month later than normal I don't expect them to be on the same schedule as semesters past. It's barely been a month since our application deadline, so just give it time. The other two programs had the same deadline and I won't hear from UTA until mid April.
