UTHSC Summer 2017

Published

Hi everyone, I just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON students who are applying for Summer 2017. I didn't see a thread created for this term yet. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin this long journey. Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!

I'm not sure if they will be able to answer this question. Maybe how many applicants where there for this term or if the competition is significantly less than the spring or fall term.

They openly answered this for the Spring application period, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing that info. I'm also curious as to how many applicants apply for Summer entry. There were over 1000 applicants for this past spring according to the admissions dept

Good lord, 1000!

UTMB said they average 600-700 in spring. That's crazy! I hope it's much lower for summer. They accept 90 students for summer term correct?

I thought it was 120 per term. Could be less for Summer though, so don't quote me on this lol

Who else is going to the information session on Wednesday?

I'm still on the fence whether I will go tomorrow or not. I would like to attend, but have to adjust a few things to make it happen.

I know for UTMB it's 120 spring and fall and 90 for summer but I'm not sure how different the two schools are

Sup!

Care to share your application stats?

How many are left in your class now?

My stats:

Overall 4.0

Nursing GPA 4.0

Hesi 95%

CT 980

Honestly, do not put too much thought into stats, there is no rhyme or reason as to how UTHealth picks students.

How many are left in your class now?

Over 100 for sure. I couldn't really tell you. We have some students from cohorts in front of us who failed or dropped a class and are now in our cohort.
