I know it's early, but I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning to apply to UTHSC for the Summer 2015 session. I am hoping to go the Pacesetter route. I currently have a degree in Communications and I'm finally able to change careers and follow my dream. I'm a high-school teacher that will be resigning in June when the school year ends. I have a lot of prereqs already taken, but have a few to go, as well. I'm currently taking Intro to Pscyh online, will take Lifespan in May, and Intro to Soci and and A&P I & II over the summer.
If you are applying to start in this summer session too, please join in the discussion! We'll need to lean on each other as we go through this tough (but wonderful) process!
Anyone else out there?
Good Luck in advance!

I am so sorry. I followed the spring 2015 board and it looked extremely painful. Like a long tortured wait - and it looks like you have been waiting again this cycle. I can imagine that you must be frustrated. Hopefully - you will get some answers via e-mail but you might try calling to talk in person.
I do hope you have applied to some of the other good schools in the Houston area - TWU, UTMB, UH, etc. Hang in there my friend - when you do get accepted into a program - this will all be a distant memory

@TX2015 love your attitude. Its pretty hard to stay optimistic especially when you cant know what you did wrong. I also had a previous degree in science and didnt retake any classes. I dont know..maybe they prefer first degree students. Who knows. I havent heard anyone getting waitlisted for summer so hopefully that means we have a chance, even if its going to be a slimmer chance.
@docmodel, let us know if they give you feedback and share with us. I heard they don't, which i think is ridiculously unfair. But it is what it is...
It may be different this term, but in the spring the people that were waitlisted, I was one of them, found out on the very last day that they said you were expected to hear back from them. If they do the same thing this term then most likely people will find out if they are waitlisted on April 15. Good luck to everyone!
Hi all,
I applied for fall 2014, rejected. I re applied for spring 2015, waitlisted and then rejected. I received a call today saying they have a spot open for summer 2015, but I'm not sure if I should take it or not. I had kind of made my peace with the rejections and moved on thinking nursing just wasn't for me anymore. I'm not really sure what to do but I have to decide tomorrow!

I would take it if I didn't have anything going on for the summer. Plus, this program is very hard to get in. But if you don't have the drive to go through nursing school then I wouldn't do it. For many, the opportunity you are gettint is an opportunity of a lifetime. Not too many people get this chance so, me personally, I would take it if you're not tied up this summer.

After such a long wait and being waitlisted in the Spring I reapplied to the summer. I noticed the other waitlist students getting seats in February, but remained hopeful. I received a denial today. I don't understand. I sent an email hopefully I can get some feedback. With the waitlist taking so long there was no time to change my application only resubmit it. Im so confused. I was wondering if there were any other waitlist students who did not get seats.
