Hey! I am applying for the Accelerated BSN program at UT Health Science Center Houston that starts in the summer and had couple of questions. I didn't see any topics regarding that particular session (saw the Spring 2014 one) so I started this one.
So I have most of my prereqs for nursing but I still need to take my science prereqs during the upcoming fall semester. I had taken most of the prereqs (like english, psychology, etc) during high school, like dual credit, and now I just need my science classes and a few extra prereqs (like sociology).
The main question that I had about the application process was if I am eligible to apply just yet? I want to enter the summer term and will complete all my prereqs by Spring 2014. But the deadline is Dec 1 (if i'm right). Would I have to complete my science prereqs first? Or could I send in what I have and continually update them with my grades? I will complete all other requirements before the deadline (taking the HESI in October), but my grades won't be complete till after the deadline.

Hey there! I was admitted for Summer 2014 off the Spring 14 waitlist, and my status has not changed yet. I did accept the admission offer, and the lady replied back saying she would send additional emails in the next few weeks!
Hey guys just letting y'all know if you didn't already , that we(this doesn't apply to the Spring waitlisted) will find out if we got accepted or denied in April. Soo yeaa for the waiting game!
Do you need to have your cpr certificate before school starts? Or is that before clinicals?
Yes, you'll have a "To-Do List" on myUTH once your status changes and one of those items is to get your BLS for Healthcare Providers and email it in to the school before you can enroll. The only thing that can wait until clinicals is your flu shot and Hep C, Rubella, and Varicella titers. Be prepared to have to get lots of titers!

Every time I call I get different answers to my questions. I have also applied to TWU Houston for the Fall. I am, like many, pursuing nursing as my second career. My stats are below:
Prereq GPA: 3.5
Science GPA: 4.0
HESI: Overall 92%
Reading 92%
A&P 92%
Math 94%
Vocabulary 84%
Grammar 98%
Critical Thinking 910
I was not completely surprised that I was denied because my transcripts from my previous degree are like a train wreck, but I am hoping they will not haunt me forever! Good Luck to everyone!

After stalking this forum for quite some time I finally got around to making an account! I was wait listed for Spring 2014 and like others received an acceptance email on Jan 6th for summer 2014 and of course accepted!:) I haven't been able to find a FB page for our class though! Can anyone help with that? Thank you:)
They finally took everything off of my to-do list and put a little green circle for complete for my application. But thats about it lol. Congrats on everyone who made it in already :)

I wish they would go ahead and change mine to the green circle. I have called them several times and made sure that they did in fact have everything they need, and their answer has been yes every time. So I now have emailed several people with hopes that it would get changed, but it has not helped as of yet.
If I'm still taking classes for my prereqs will the application status stay a yellow triangle and not affect whether or not I get in?
You're application status will turn green if they have everything even if you're not done with your prereqs. The only thing is that your todo list will still list your transcript from the college of your remaining prereqs and it will remain there until you send them a completed transcript when you've finished the class.
