Hey guys, just wanted to begin a thread for all UT Health SON hopefuls who are applying for Spring 2016. I look forward to getting to know all of you as we begin to play what seems to be the longest waiting game ever! I am more than confident that each and every one of us will be receiving our acceptance letters around this same time next year:) Feel free to share anything regarding the application process and/or ask any questions that you may have!
That's the mistake I made for Fall 2015. Well here is something to sleep on. San Jac Central ADN program deadline is November 18th for Spring 2016. You could apply there and apply to UT for summer 2016. Trust me I know having everything you need for your BSN and going backwards for an ADN is hard to do. That's what I have to go through, but I'm extremely grateful I got accepted into San Jac's program. Let me know how you feel about that option.
Thank you Hopeful22 for your insight. Marz1, I'm sorry you didn't get accepted. I did the same as you... didn't apply to any other schools for spring 2016, I figured if I didn't get in I would just take an extra few months to save money and apply for Summer 2016, at UTHSC and other schools. But now that I didn't get accepted I feel more bummed out than I thought I would, and just want to get through school so bad instead of drawing it out for so long.
Hopeful22, do you think San Jac is a quality program in your opinion? I've read sketchy things about the HCC ADN program. I think San Jac would accept me, I'm pretty sure my stats are competitive. I work at a hospital now, and I know that they help their ADN's pay for their school to get their BSN, and many of them do it online so they can work at the same time.
Thanks for reading my unsolicited comment haha :)
I think all programs have their pros and cons. I believe we just have to make the best out of our situation in whatever school we decide to go to. Did you look at Prarie View Nursing Program? They require the Hesi too. I don't qualify for their program because I had to retake more than two classes from my good ole days of college partying. Had I not gotten accepted into San Jac, a whole year would have passed by because I got rejected from UT again. There is no harm in applying to San Jac while also applying to UT and Prairie View for Summer 2016. You can always go to which ever school accepts you, or who knows...you might like San Jac so much you decide to stay.
