Hey everyone!
I couldn't find a thread for Summer 2016 that was active so I'm starting one here! I am also an applicant for Fall 2016 but I'm applying for both because the deadlines are close and I really want to go here!!
So far I'm taking courses over the summer right now and going to finish my prerequisites this fall. I JUST finished the HESI exam today!!! Hope to hear from all of you soon
The A&P section of the HESI seems to be all over the place. You will have some basic questions as well as some specific questions. My specific questions dealt with the muscle group quadriceps femoris. There were 2 or 3 questions about that group. Know the types of tissues and cartilage and how cartilage changes from an infant to adult (ossification). Plus there were some general science questions on mine that I didn't feel had anything to do with human A&P. Luckily I'm a science teacher so they didn't throw me for a loop! Good luck. While I have the ATI book for the TEAS V, I have not looked at it so I can't really tell you about how well it matches up with the HESI.
Hello everyone! I'm applying for Summer 2016 and Fall 2016 as well! Hope everyone is doing well during the application process! I'm waiting for the registrar to get my transcripts and my HESI scores still. Took the HESI on Nov. 6, got home that night and immediately submitted my Summer application and ordered my transcripts to be sent over. Hopefully they will be getting to them pretty soon! *fingers crossed*
You get 4 hours to complete all of the sections, but for UTHealth you don't need Biology or Chemistry or those personality type tests, which by the way they will pop up when you take the exam, so don't freak out (I did a little because I was so confused!). You can see all the required sections on UTHealth's website. Basically, you have 4 hours and you get to decide how much time you want to take on each section that is required.

Thank you for the info! :)
Does anyone have any tips for how to study for the Critical Thinking portion of the HESI or at least what to expect?I take my HESI tomorrow, and this is the only section I'm unsure about.
There are no wrong answers, but there are "better" answers. Think like a nurse. Think about the A,B,C's (Airway, Breathing, and Circulation) and think about the nurse's scope of practice.
