Hi,
I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.
Thanks for your comments
@ desjt3 - When did you send your transcripts to the school? I'm still waiting for my evaluation. I sent my transcripts at the end of July, so I'm just wondering how behind they are. It's hard to believe that the deadline is tomorrow!
Hello oveanise, I was wondering the same thing. I send my transcripts at the end of June, and I still haven't received my evaluation.

I think I'll feel better after I receive the transcript evaluation because it means I'm hearing something back, haha. :) Since there's no interview or anything to do face to face, it's a bit discomforting to just send in an application and then not hear anything for awhile. Hopefully we'll receive our evaluations very soon!
@desjt....
Well, I sent over "OFFICIAL" transcripts from SFA and the ONE class from HCC.....I am on edge here. I am just hoping they see all 60 hours are complete and are just waiting on the official copies.
I am in same boat...old GPA brings down my overall...a lot.....so I hope they will look at my most recent 31 hours...4.0, including all sciences....
WHO knows what they want, right?????
Any idea when they send letters out?
@oceanise- The school sent mine via speede on 7/26, so sometime around then is when they received them. I know what you mean by hearing something.
@marylynn- I def think the school will see you have everything completed and wait for official up to date copies. I hope they view my grades the same way, my last 3 semesters have been straight A's, and its like 43 hours...but of course some of my classes from way back in the day apply to the pre-reqs. :/
I think letters are sent out Nov 15 and so on. Reading old forums ppl received letters of denial and acceptance at various times.
Ps. TODAY IS THE DEADLINE!! (not that you all didn't know this just thought I'd celebrate on here)

I agree yay! Desjt3, if I have a green dot by my name on UTH will they still send me a transcript evaluation? Thanks

Hmm, alright, that's about the same date that I sent mine (although one was sent electronically and one by mail).
Today's the deadline! Hopefully everyone was able to send everything in on time. It seems that we'll have at least 2 months of waiting ahead of us.
It may take longer to get an eval if you have transcripts from more than one school..not certain though? & yes just because it says complete you should still get an evaluation because it gives you a chance to see that they calculated everything right.
Though, some people said they never received one and got accepted. Or some received 3 of them, all the same, at diff times and didn't get accepted. Or got their denial, then got an eval later in the mail. Its really weird and random but means nothing towards your chances. I hope all of you get one so you can feel a little bit more at ease during this 2 1/2 month wait period.

Maybe. I have a few classes (including A&P2 and micro) that I'd be transferring from an out of state school, so I want to make sure that I'm given the proper credit for them. Knowing that everything is correct would give me one less thing to worry about.

Dont be nervous I have the lowest pre-req gpa (no bachelor degree)...no bueno! I also have an 820CT... :/ plus I got a transcript evaluation in the mail last night and my pre-req GPA was correct 3.68, my science was correct with 4.0. They had an overall GPA on there that said 3.06...which made me freak. I know they don't look at overall but they literally had a list of classes on there that said "did not use the following courses towards requirements" yet they did use those towards the overall calculation.
A little history, I graduated High School in 2006. Went straight to college in the fall, met my now husband and dropped out...received 3 F's and a W having no clue how college worked and one day it would haunt me. Started college again in 2009 got A's in all my previous F classes. Yet the F's were used in that overall calculation...ugh just irritating. I know if I call theyll say "we dont look at that" but its like a big block in the Road when everything else looks good and that is low. I dont understand if my transcript says 0.00 (not used in GPA) why they would use it on the transcript eval. frustrating. My overall GPA should be 3.57 like my transcript says!!
@marylynn07 do your schools have the speede option? it sends it electronically (which the school prefers) and it takes 1 business day. As long as you have what you need in by Tomorrow, which you do with it showing 40 complete hours, you can continue to send stuff in for updates. Dont worry.
