UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

So, I applied for the Spring 2013 semester as well (Traditional BSN). I am taking a look at my HESI scores on the Evolve site. Does anyone know what the Class Average column means? Does it include people who took it within the same timeframe or does it include only UTHealth applicants?

@woopigsooie, I don't know about the class average? Maybe the prometric center will know what the averages are.

Just a personal update, my HESI score to-do was removed from this list this afternoon, trust me ive been checking a few times a day this week. I did call the school a few times today too, and they told me that if the to-do was there past the due date not to worry they receive a ton of scores at once and it takes sometime to take the to-do off. As long as they were received and taken before Sept 1 you are in the clear.

Also, my status is still incomplete. She said it will be because im finishing pre-reqs other guy told me it would turn to complete. I just hate the yellow triangle and want to be green with the others who are still taking pre-reqs....

@desjt3, I will see if I can track down the meaning of the class average.

I took my HESI in June so that is in the clear. I am with you on the pre-reqs. I have my last 3 this semester so I still have the dreaded yellow triangle.

I called again AND emailed and I was told again that transcripts would remain on to-do until i finished! Which I am okay with, and they said you can still be considered for acceptance! They said it doesn't affect your chances :) They also said it's not supposed to say complete if you're taking classes now, which almost made it sound like if it says complete (and you really aren't done), it would appear to them like you are done with classes. Now that I think about it, if they just look at what I have now, they might toss my app because I don't have all of my pre-reqs! At least with transcripts incomplete, it is clear I have classes left! so desjt3, we can breathe! It sounds like we are certainly where we need to be :)

Ok....I had a TERRIBLE day today. I have waited to turn in all of my transcripts until today. I took the HESI last Saturday and just wanted to wait until I finished my last pre req this summer and turn everything in at once. I have called up there and had an evaluation done on what I needed so I knew I was good with all required classes. I tried to be so organized and had all my transcripts ordered....SFA, UH, one class from HCC years ago and Lone Star.....My fiance drove my transcripts up to UTHSC today and I was so happy it was all turned in....WEll, I get a phone call from UTHSC and they said TWO of my transcripts were not official....because I had ordered them 7 months ago!!!!! I had NO idea they had to be ordered within 6 months of turning them in. I am now in FREAK out mode. I cannot get anyone to answer my question....will they still accept my app and let me get ANOTHER official transcript in next week. If not, I will drive to Nacogdoches tomorrow morning and get it in person! MY only positive is that my Lone Star and UH are official....I have 31 hours from LC...all pre req classes and at least 9 hours from UH will count to the pre reqs...so I officially have 40 of the hours turned in....even though I have finished all 60! My fault for waiting until the last week but I was not going to turn it all in unless I did really well on the HESI...and I couldn't take Hesi until last week because I had to focus on Chemistry this summer....AHHHHHHHHH!!!! I just want to cry. I hope they do not judge my admission thinking I have 20 hours left! I am completely done!!!

@ Marylynn70 Find out if the schools will email/fax your official transcript (SPEEDE), and if there is a charge, can you pay over the phone. Good luck!
