UTHSC-Houston Spring 2013

Hi,

I am new to allnurses.com and I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants at UTHSC Houston. Where we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the HESI but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I will compile my GPA's later and post them on here.

I just checked myUTH and it says my application is incomplete, and the HESI is still under my todo list... How long did it take for your HESI todo to be removed?

I had to email someone to have it removed... and same for some of the transcript holds ;-)

Thanks. I hope they don't consider my application late, I turned everything in and took the hesi before the deadline. :S

It took me calling as well...call the school of nursing (SON) 713 500 3361 or 713 500 2199. Of course its a holiday today so calls are going to be super busy tomorrow. Good luck

Dont be nervous I have the lowest pre-req gpa (no bachelor degree)...no bueno! I also have an 820CT... :/ plus I got a transcript evaluation in the mail last night and my pre-req GPA was correct 3.68, my science was correct with 4.0. They had an overall GPA on there that said 3.06...which made me freak. I know they don't look at overall but they literally had a list of classes on there that said "did not use the following courses towards requirements" yet they did use those towards the overall calculation.

A little history, I graduated High School in 2006. Went straight to college in the fall, met my now husband and dropped out...received 3 F's and a W having no clue how college worked and one day it would haunt me. Started college again in 2009 got A's in all my previous F classes. Yet the F's were used in that overall calculation...ugh just irritating. I know if I call theyll say "we dont look at that" but its like a big block in the Road when everything else looks good and that is low. I dont understand if my transcript says 0.00 (not used in GPA) why they would use it on the transcript eval. frustrating. My overall GPA should be 3.57 like my transcript says!! :banghead:

@marylynn07 do your schools have the speede option? it sends it electronically (which the school prefers) and it takes 1 business day. As long as you have what you need in by Tomorrow, which you do with it showing 40 complete hours, you can continue to send stuff in for updates. Dont worry.

I love your positive attitude!! I'm like you and had a few mess ups in undergrad that I'm afraid will look bad on my part... I had an F and was to hard headed and did not want a W on my transcript plus I didn't want to waste money on a class! I had some ups and downs in undergrad as well on the Deans list one semester and off the next because of trying to carry myself through college along with a boyfriend who mentally abused me... it was difficult and I take the blame for it... I should have been a stronger person!

Now I'm hoping that it doesn't haunt me! I'm getting ready to take my HESI in 2 weeks and I'm very nervous.... I hope I can do well on this! All my prereqs are mostly A's and a couple of B's. Hopefully I'll have a chance. I'm applying to the accelerated program, so fingers crossed and praying! My undergrad was in Business Management so this is a complete change for me, but I know it is a good one!

Good luck to you as well!! :) having a college history is better than having nothing at all, like having a degree is better than not. You will get in, just think happy thoughts!

Called the SON to get some things off my to-do list - they were able to take off the HESI part of my to-do since they recieved the scores but still waiting on a transcript eval to get the proof of TSI removed. One step closer to a completed application instead of that yellow triangle!

So relieved the deadline has passed! Although now we get to enjoy the waiting game lol

What number did you call? I sent them an email and they still haven't responded :(

dee1388,my Todo list said the same as yours, I emailed them today and got this reply

"Hello,

Scores for August have not been uploaded yet. There has been a delay, but all scores will be uploaded this week.

I talked to someone today who said my application status is not going to change to complete until I get accepted and turn in all of the requirements including CPR, shots etc...? She pretty much said we are going to see the triangle until November 15th....?
