UTHSC (Houston) Spring

Published

This thread is dedicated to the applicants of UT Houston's Spring 2012 application period. I've seen various threads posted throughout the discussion forum regarding the upcoming application period, but they are scattered and hard to keep track of. Maybe if we keep our discussion in one place it will be easier for us all to follow :)

I'm applying with the following stats:

Pre-req GPA: 3.21

Science GPA: 3.66

Overall GPA: 2.81

I know my chances of getting in aren't great with my overall GPA, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway! Please post your stats, your thoughts, your experiences, ideas and opinions here:)

Good luck to everyone!!

To this day I can pull up all 3 past application periods and it still says pending. It will only change if you get accepted. Good luck to those still patiently waiting. If you don't get in here you will get in somewhere and that's all that really matters.

I looked on the FB group for the UTHSC Spring 2012 accepted applicants and it does not look too diverse. I don't believe that it was like that in the previous semesters. Maybe this spring semester it just happened by chance. I'm 35, black, my gpa is 4.0 science (all first attempts), 3.67 and I got a 87 on my HESI. I got into TWU, which was my first choice, but I love the fact that UT has the shorter program.

I didn't get into UTHSC but my application still says pending. I wonder how many applicants application still says that? If they didn't get accepted, does the UTLink status change or will it still say pending?

Angelic, how do you know you didn't get in? Did you get a letter or email? Or are you referring to an application for a semester other than Spring 2012?

I'm referring to the spring 2012 semester. I haven't recieved any mail or anything. I just assumed because of my UTLink has not been updated.

hey guys i have good news?, anyways i called the registrars office to take care of a hold and the i asked the lady if i had gotten in, because i figured there is no reason to waste time i did not get in, and she said it was pending status, but then she said that was not a bad thing because the nursing department is still not done making decisions, she says there are still applicants that have not had their application seen. so the 14th is their decision deadloine and 15th the mail out date. so she said i should not look at "pending status" as a bad thing because they are not done

Saraiish: I'm feel so relief after hearing that. My hope comes back again !! Thank You for the information

so every body, you application according to what she told me might not even have been viewed yet, remember till you get a letter somwhere after the 15th, it aint over! i know its a hard wait for the rest of us, but it might be unnessary stress.

I got accepted for Spring 2012!!! :yeah::balloons::anpom:*wine

I received an email yesterday stating that I was accepted, It felt to good to be true because I never got called for an interviewed.

I called the registration office just to confirm my acceptance, and it WAS TRUE!!!!!

I am soooooooooo happy :dncgbby:

where are people getting emails, your personal emails you put on the form?

oh and congrats roxy!

@ oxy are you going with pv or ut?

Yes, the email went to my personal email I submitted on the application.

We still only have about 44 students in the group for Spring. Even accounting for people that don't have fb, that's a lot of spaces open. Don't give up hope! Good luck to you all, it's 11/11/11, make a wish! :)

This doesn't make any sense! How can they say they haven't even seen some people's application when they have already emailed someone saying they are on the wait list???!!! I assumed they were going to rank all the applicants and take the top 80 since they said all they were basing their decision on was GPA & HESI. If they haven't looked at everyone's application then what are they basing it on? This feels very random (bowl idea is making a lot of sense right now)!

I just want to know one way or the other!!!! Agghhh!!
