Hi, planning to apply to UTHSC for FNP for next summer, so don't have personal experience... BUT a good friend of mine just graduated from the UTHSC FNP program last semester and she has told me that yes, you need to secure your own preceptors and it was the most stressful aspect of the program for her. They do help, and there are a few placements, but for the most part she found her preceptors by looking at a list of past preceptors that UT provided. Hope this helps. Maybe someone with personal experience can chime in and elaborate.
