Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
Has everyone already heard of there acceptance though the myUTH? I still have the yellow triangle I have no holds.. Ahh.. Should I just wait for my letter or what?
ok. So I have holds now, including immunizations, but I still have a yellow triangle. What does this mean???
As of now, nothing really. It's all still speculation. Those with green check marks next to their admissions status are the only ones with anything indicative of their acceptance. The holds don't seem to hold relevance to one's acceptance, so far.
I haven't really been keeping track, but only about 4 or 5 people so far have indicated that they have been accepted. That's a large amount of spots left.
And I quote,"The system is currently offline for scheduled maintenance." That's good. It gives me a break from checking. And congratulations to all those with that coveted green check!
My last name begins with a W. I am just gonna wait for my letter, I guess. I am assuming that is going to be the most definite way of knowing because it seems even the people that were accepted have other things they are now worrying about?
Yep...... I know I now have a HUGE decision to make. I'm torn between UTHSC and UTMB. I like both of the schools and must now determine which one is going to be better for me and my family.
