Hello everyone! This thread is for everyone applying to the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. I believe they will be accepting applications from January 15-April 1, so the sooner the better! Their admission requirements are pretty standard:
Minimum Pre-Req Gpa: 2.75
Minimum Science Gpa: 3.0
Minimum HESI A2 score: 75% or higher on all required sections - math, reading comprehension, vocabulary/general knowledge, grammar, anatomy and physiology, critical thinking.
My info is really not that competitive, but I'm going to give it a shot anyways -
Pre-Req Gpa: 3.30
Science Gpa: 3.0 (Barely cutting it! )
Overall Gpa: 3.28
Hesi score: 93.3% overall, with my lowest score being a 90.
My gpa is not the best, but I still have 3 more classes to finish this semester, and I'm aiming for all A's! I think the best thing I have going for me is my HESI scores.
Anyone else planning on applying? What are your stats? Any questions? Lets hear them, and good luck to all who are applying!
2 new holds on my account. immunization and health form holds. it reads: a certification of immunization form must be on file with student health services before enrollment is allowed. please see your to do list for more information.
this happened last semester. i think it means we're in.
My holds haven't changed yet either. Just the "evil yellow triangle" also, lol! My prereq gpa=3.83, science gpa=4.0, Hesi=94%, critical thinking=890. Oh yeah, and I NEVER got a transcript evalutation!
Your stats are too good not to have gotten in. If you don't have a hold change today, you may want to inquire as to why you've never received an eval. Maybe their calculation of your GPA differs from yours. Are you missing anything for your application?
I know it seems silly to ask, but you never know. Talk to them. Your scores are awesome.
also, i applied last semester and they definitely updated our statuses in alphabetical order. i know because another person in my stats class applied and she had the same first letter in her last name and our statuses updated simultaneously. everyone was posting their last name letters and it was alphabetized. my last name is an r.
***i should edit this because this statement it not entirely true. the status updates were mostly alphabetized. a few people were updated out of order. i don't want anyone to lose hope completely.

Hey guys, I believe there is a possibility that they may update system in the same order the transcript evals went out!!! Since I received my Evaluation in the end of January (kind of early compared to some people here). So its reasonable that my account was updated... However, we shouldnt say anything at this time. What will be will be... Lets hope!!!!
