Hi everyone! I did not find a thread for fall 2015 UTHSC applicants so I decided to create one, sorry if there is already one. I am going to be applying to Prairie View A&M, UTHSC, and Lone Star College (with UTHSC being my first choice). My current stats are:
Science GPA: 4.0
Overall GPA: 3.9
I am taking my Hesi test this Saturday. I'm fairly nervous about it so I'm studying non-stop until it's time to take the test.
I'm looking forward to talking to everyone else that is applying! :)
To those waitlisted, did you guys just get an e-mail regarding a change in admission status just now? Mine still says waitlisted but I just now received that e-mail. I'm so confused!
To those that have been denied, reapply for spring! Fall has a huge applicant pool. UTH doesn't take the top 125-150,so it wasn't necessarily your scores. People have been applied up to 3 times. If it's what you want, go for it! Good luck!
Definitely apply again. I was denied for summer and accepted for fall...with the same exact application! I think UTHSC may see how much you want this. If this is your dream apply again. I know it is frustrated to see the " denied" status but this just makes the acceptance that much sweeter. Good luck to all.
Guys definitely don't give up! I was waitlisted in the Spring and later was denied. Anyway I reapplied for the summer and i got in. I did not retake anything so my stats were the same. From my understanding, Fall is usually the most competitive of all terms to get into since they probably had the most applicants off all three terms.
I got my acceptance to Lone star NH yesterday and I'm taking it. After talking to two current UTHSC students, one with two young kids, I decided it's better for me and my family to do ADN first. This will probably be our only child; I'm not willing to be away from him for 60+ hours a week. There's always early decision RN to BSN to UTHSC for Lonestar and HCC ADN students, so we will wait until that time comes.
congratulations on your acceptances. If you didn't get in, resend your application! My friend applied three times in a row.. Denied, wait listed, then accepted. I think they look at how badly you want to go there and will take you at some point :) good luck!
@jbau89 - as the mother of one son who worked crazy hours during his childhood - I applaud your decision.
Your child is young for a short time- those years fly by and you can't get them back. Enjoy your program and your son. I'm sure you will be a great nurse and will have a chance to attend UTHSC later.
Is there any schools besides UTHSC that I can apply for? I mean I been practicing for the Hesi and not the THEAS which would limit my choices of other Nursing programs such as the one in Galveston or TWU. Please let me know. I am considering Prairie view but taking economics and speech with me wanting to get into the spring semester alongside the only four prereqs I needed for UTHSC makes me just pass it on.
