UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Spring 2020

I thought I'd start this feed now. I applied in January. I know I'm early but I'm not much of a procrastinator. I just retook my Hesi and got a 89.2.. I feel I need to take it over but, some people are saying they don't even know UT's selection process. Can anyone enlighten me on that?

Just got accepted! Got an email, but haven’t checked my status yet.

I have a Bachelors in Education. My GPA is 4.0 with no repeats and my Hese score was 96%.

From what I can tell it’s a pretty random process. If you did not get accepted do not get discouraged! There are quite a few other programs that are also amazing and you can apply again. In the end it doesn’t actually matter where you go, so don’t let that stop you! I am 29 and am going back to school to chase a dream I have had for a long time. I say this to say that for those of you who are younger, you still have so much time! I know that probably doesn’t feel very helpful to hear, but I went on a whole round about journey before I even got here so most of you all are already ahead of me! Keep your chin up and keep on fighting for your dreams!

Congrats to everyone getting their acceptance! I’m applying for the summer and am wondering if the majority of those getting accepted already have their BLS certification?

i'd get everything you can get prior to acceptance. I'd think it would be easier.

I don't have BLS certification yet...I intend doing that by next week.

I would say get all your immunizations and stuff like that before acceptance as well. Although I would wait on the BLS certification because it has an expiration date and if you got it before you got accepted then it's likely it will expire while you're in school and then you'll have to take some time during busy semesters to go get recertified.

My sister was accepted this morning with a previous degree and had to retake chemistry since she got a C the first time taking. She did do pretty well on the HESI. I also graduated from the program 3.5 years ago, so I’m not sure if that helped or not. Don’t panic. They send out multiple rounds of acceptance letters.

BLS has 2-3 years until it expires.
