UTH Cizik School of Nursing BSN Pacesetter- Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone?!

Just wanted to start a forum to see if there are any other nursing student applicants for the Fall semester? I just applied, although, I know I will not get a response until beginning of April. I was so excited since I just finished my HESI. I had to retake it since I did not take Vocab. the first time I took it? . Anyways, I really pray I get in for August so I can get started and not need to take any additional classes for other schools. My friend got in for Spring 2019 and she is loving it. I have really been fighting to get here for a VERY LONG TIME

I really can't wait. Good luck to everyone! ?

Hi All,

I also applied for Fall & I'm also seeing a To Do for one of my transcripts (I sent all 7 in one envelope so not sure why this is the only one still on there, maybe bc I received a bachelors from that school?) I've emailed the registrar over a week ago and no response so I'm going to call on Monday.

Based on the summer pacesetter thread, my stats aren't looking so competitive, especially for fall. I have a 3.2 and a 86 on the HESI. I've also applied to a fast paced ADN program in Austin for those with certain healthcare degrees/certs (I'm a surgical technologist) and I thought the ADN was my top choice but now I'm really wanting to do this program more as the cost for the final BSN (after doing a bridge RN-BSN program) isn't really that different. It's a bit late to retake the HESI and I'm currently in the TX/US government classes so if I reapply, hopefully I'll have better stats then.

Good luck to everyone!

If you are currently taking classes then the transcript from where you are currently registered will stay in the "To-Do" section until classes are completed and final transcript is sent. ? Good luck

Hey everyone! Summer acceptances went out today so this thread should become more active.

I am applying for the 2nd time, with 48 credits.

Stats:

3.4 Cumulative GPA

3.88 Prereq GPA

4.0 Science GPA

92.4 HESI

I did receive a transcript evaluation for my last application.

Hiiii @accionursingbook So we meet again lol. Hiii everyone I applied for summer and have not received a decision yet so I will be reapplying for the fall.

Cum GPA-3.075

Ugh, sad to be here lol.

Comparing both our stats, it seems that our Cumulative GPA is what dragged us down. Which is exactly what I thought was gonna happen when I applied.

I am finishing up 4 classes this semester and am on track to make A's in all of them, but it's unfortunate that they wouldn't bump up my GPA until applying for Spring 2020. And at that point, had I not been accepted for Fall at UTH, I will be in Lone Star's ADN program.

Yea I was kinda scared that my cumulative would be the end of me lol. I’m currently taking 5 classes and two finish in March but I don’t think I’ll be able to send the transcripts in time. Ah well we shall see what happens.

Hiiii I don’t think it will hurt your chances honestly because the rest of your stats seem so good but no one really knows what they really look for. Just have faith everything will work out!!

Your overall stats are still good so you definitely have a shot.

Hey guys! I've been contemplating when to make an appearance... It seems as though now is a good time as any.

My name is Marc. This will be my first time applying. I have been obsessed with reading all the past threads (despite multiple people cautioning me not to get too enthralled in anticipation and anxiety).

My STATS:

HESI

Overall: 90.8

A&P 100

Grammar 88

Reading 82

Math 90

Vocab 94

Prereq GPA 3.76

Science GPA 3.75 (my own calculations)

I'm well aware I don't have the best scores imaginable, yet I remain hopeful and optimistic. I will try my best to stay away from this website until they make their announcements so I don't get overly anxious *fingers crossed*

Hey Lessy, great stats! I wanted to ask what you used to study for the reading portion for HESI. I struggled a bit with that section so if I were to retake it I wanted to prepare well for it. Thank you and best of luck!?

Hi guys!

I have also applied for the fall and I'm freaking out because this is only one of two schools I applied to this term. I'm trying not to get discouraged by reading other people's stats!! Here are mine (based on my own calculations so not 10000% sure)-

Cum GPA: 3.701

Pre-req GPA: 3.73

Science GPA: 3.58

HESI overall: 95.6

A&P: 92

Reading: 98

Grammar: 96

Vocab: 96

Math: 96

Also graduating from Texas A&M with a B.S. in Health in May.

Good luck everyone!!!

Hi! I’m so sorry, but the reading section was the ONLY section I didn’t practice or study for ? I did take that section first, and I think that might have helped. I didn’t want to over think it because I heard that the answers were straightforward. I watched a lot of videos on people’s HESI experience on Youtube and that helped ease my mind a bit. In those videos, I remembered somebody saying that the reading section isn’t really trying to get you to use outside knowledge and you really have to focus one what the passage is saying. I would say practicing is almost always great, but try not to burn yourself out on the reading section when your exam date is nearing. I remember being worried about the time, but I finished in like 2.5 hours. I’m sorry if this wasn’t that helpful ? Good luck!! Wish you the best!! ?
