UTA Spring 2021 AO BSN/BSN Cohort

Published

Is anyone else applying this June for the Spring 2021 Cohort, either the AO BSN or the BSN?

I'm currently taking CHEM 1451 and STAT 1308. If I pass these classes all I have left are Path and Pharm. I received a B for Microbiology, so I will be retaking that I think, and most likely CHEM & STAT. I received a C for the HIST 1312 US History since 1865, I took it at UTA, if I retake it at my local community college can I ask to replace the grade? Additionally, does anyone know if an Associate's in Science counts as a previous degree?

Don't forget!

  • Check your vaccinations! Start getting them squared away now! Especially the Hep B titers.
  • If you're from outside the US and have had the BCG vaccine, you will need the T-Spot or QuantiFERON blood test (which you probably already knew).
  • TEAS should be taken no later than 4/1/2020 (per the advisor).

Application deadline is June 1st!

thought you all might want to know that UTA advising told me they had over 800 applicants this cohort for the AO BSN and only accepted 180. I requested more student demographic information since they don't give that data out proactively and if I get it I will post here.

Do you know anything about on campus data??

I’m sorry I don’t. Trying to get information out of uta has been like pulling teeth from a lion

The only question I have now is...if I proceed to take NURS 2300, will it transfer to other BSN programs in Texas.....If I decide to apply for Fall, it would only be if I am partnered at the time. #waitlistmyfoot

It will not transfer to ut health or utmb. I asked the other day in a q&a session at utmb the other day

out of that applicant pool, I wonder how many have a pharm/patho preference.

Hi y'all, I am a fellow waitlisted student! My clinical location preference is the San Antonio hospital. Any other students waitlisted for this location??

My hubs and I both are waitlisted for San Antonio

Anyone hear any news about people coming off the waitlist? The first deadline was last Friday, so I assume that people have declined their acceptance (shockingly enough I heard people will actually turn down UTA) plus immunizations have been submitted.

Many people lost their spot due to immunization non-compliance, they will start calling people on waitlist very soon!

This makes me excited and nervous all at once. I hope my records are okay. Was there any one main issue?

People get caught a lot on HepB vaccine.

My advice to people on waitlist is to double check all your immunization and fix any discrepancies so you will be ready when they call you. The CONHI coordinator said they are worried students gets reluctant on their vaccines. Previous cohorts they have to dig deep into students with low 7s points to fill in. Good luck guys!
