UTA Spring 2021 AO BSN/BSN Cohort

Published

Is anyone else applying this June for the Spring 2021 Cohort, either the AO BSN or the BSN?

I'm currently taking CHEM 1451 and STAT 1308. If I pass these classes all I have left are Path and Pharm. I received a B for Microbiology, so I will be retaking that I think, and most likely CHEM & STAT. I received a C for the HIST 1312 US History since 1865, I took it at UTA, if I retake it at my local community college can I ask to replace the grade? Additionally, does anyone know if an Associate's in Science counts as a previous degree?

Don't forget!

  • Check your vaccinations! Start getting them squared away now! Especially the Hep B titers.
  • If you're from outside the US and have had the BCG vaccine, you will need the T-Spot or QuantiFERON blood test (which you probably already knew).
  • TEAS should be taken no later than 4/1/2020 (per the advisor).

Application deadline is June 1st!

Thank you- I appreciate it , I sincerely think they missed something. Hopefully I’ll get a response back from my email on Tuesday and they can see the error of their ways ?

Hey where did you miscalculate? On my mymav I have the two GPAs and the bachelor bump. I

It’s good to have it now, but when I emailed the advising team about it, they said to wait until acceptance. However, I feel better now than later. Especially with the pandemic and so many places closed or doing by Appt only.

Thank you so much! I wasn't sure what to do about it or if I should move on it now.

So I added my two GPA’s, thought I qualified for the 12/30 credit hours considerations. Turns out I didn’t. Most of my hours were transferred from TTU so it didn’t apply. Then I realized the print does say from UTA.  Also, I was confused on the pharm/patho consideration. I had thought (from a comment on one of these forums) that if you were pre-enrolled in pharm or patho for Summer 20 before the application deadline, then it would’ve counted for the ranking process. I had gotten an A in patho so I figured that was going to go towards my ranking. Turns out no LOL. So always confirm with team despite if it’s on one of these forums.

I see a lot of cmnts from AO students. I was wondering if any of y’all got accepted into campus based with the point of 7.something with or w/o consideration?

Hi guys

I have applied for on campus BSN and got waitlisted. I got my Hep B titer back in January, do I need to get my titer again or should I be fine with that?

and my BLS expires January 2021 should I get it again?

I was waitlisted.

I see accepted and waitlisted posts only, has anybody got declined email or heard of somebody getting declined email? I am wondering everybody meeting application requirements are placed on waitlist.

I don’t think they send denials. So people hang on forever thinking they have a chance. It would be much kinder to set a bar and then deny everyone below it.

I am kinda worried now. What are the alternate options to get into the clinical? Any suggestion would help. This application and waiting to be called off seems to be the never-ending process ??? If we can't boost GPA, then there is no way we can get into any clinical?

I don't want to be a bitter betty about this but I am just blown away at the system they use. I truly feel like there is an absolute lack of transparency in acceptance into this program that is unethical if not illegally deceptive. I've seen that it is common for people to apply multiple times to get in and I just feel like its a trick to get more money from students while simultaneously make themselves look like a much better school than they are. I am happy for those that got in but it seems like the only real way to get accepted is to be an employee of a partnered hospital or have been an alternate in the previous cohort. like honestly, how do they have people with scores above 8.0 getting waitlisted and say thats justified? I truly don't understand.

It 100% does suck.  There is zero transparency. I know DFW and Houston are very competitive clinical sites. The only thing I can say is I completed my pre reqs at UTA and have a 4.0 in my sciences. I had two full mental breakdowns while on the waitlist. It's no laughing matter. Apply to other programs is my suggestion and be prepared in case they call, but it is psychological warfare.
