UTA Spring 2021 AO BSN/BSN Cohort

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Is anyone else applying this June for the Spring 2021 Cohort, either the AO BSN or the BSN?

I'm currently taking CHEM 1451 and STAT 1308. If I pass these classes all I have left are Path and Pharm. I received a B for Microbiology, so I will be retaking that I think, and most likely CHEM & STAT. I received a C for the HIST 1312 US History since 1865, I took it at UTA, if I retake it at my local community college can I ask to replace the grade? Additionally, does anyone know if an Associate's in Science counts as a previous degree?

Don't forget!

  • Check your vaccinations! Start getting them squared away now! Especially the Hep B titers.
  • If you're from outside the US and have had the BCG vaccine, you will need the T-Spot or QuantiFERON blood test (which you probably already knew).
  • TEAS should be taken no later than 4/1/2020 (per the advisor).

Application deadline is June 1st!

I’m assuming we need to get the “new “ flu shot that just came out since the one that I got in March was for the last season? Also once you have Titers that show immune we don’t need to do anything else correct?

Flu shot may need to be good for the entire program, getting it done early is not advisable. They told us to wait until November for flu shots. Positive Titers after the series of immunization will be good enough.

My advice to people on waitlist is to double check all your immunization and fix any discrepancies so you will be ready when they call you. The CONHI coordinator said they are worried students gets reluctant on their vaccines. Previous cohorts they have to dig deep into students with low 7s points to fill in. Good luck guys!

Thanks for your advice. I sent them all the immunization records since it was taken in my home country. They told me it was fine but I keep getting anxious about it bc we only have 2 days to submit them.

Did anyone get called off the waitlist yet?

Our Canvas orientation start on the 9/25, so calling people from waitlist starts thereafter!

Just make sure all your Titers comes back positive or showing immunity. Otherwise you should be fine.

I didn’t take any titer except for hep B. All my immunization were recorded by a doctor. I had some doubts since the immunizations were taken in a different country but they approved it. So just hoping it would be fine.

You will definitely need the hepB titers. Don't mess yourself up. Get them done.

Yes took the hep B titer already. When I submitted the immunization records they only told me to get hep B titer. So others should fine hopefully.

Has any body heard  anything about BSN advising calling off people from the waiting list???

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let ya'll know I am also on the waitlist (DFW clinical location preference). I had an admission GPA of 3.93 and science GPA of 3.75. I had the additional consideration of taking all sciences at UTA, so my overall score was 8.18 (hoping they round up). I really didn't think I would be waitlisted off of my one "B" in A&P I, but I think this program is so much more competitive than I anticipated.

I know it's hard to get discouraged, but hoping we all get called up soon! Good luck everyone! <3

Hey Robyn,

I think this cycle was more competitive than most... I am also waitlisted with total points over 8.8 ... stay focused and move forward, that’s all we can do. Good luck
