Has anyone taken the research class?? I am taking it next month. Any advice??

THanks

Thank you so much Heddi for the enlightenment. I am really waiting for your response since you took it already. My elective is legacy i do not have any gen. Classes. My plan was leadership with vulnerable, research with hollistic older adult then the last capstone with legacy. If i can do my plan i will finish august but its gonna be hard with my GPA. You are right 5 weeks more of the target date does not make a difference. Thank a lot appreciate your honest opinion.... How about research with legacy? Thank you heddi!

I did not take Legacy but I have heard that it is brutal on course load.

Thanks for the input heather. Appreciate it.

Oh my this class is killing me! I'm reading things & I think I understand it then turn in an assignment only to receive 70's! I've had all A's so far in this program. I'll be lucky to pass this time. :-(

Hang in there hardworkinmama we are in the same boat:-(... Well get throught this! I did bad on tbe first assignment either. Almost drop the class though:(

Which books did you use for research? I see there's about 3 listed and want to make sure I'm not going to waste my money.

I would like to know that also.

Hi I'd like advice from those of you who have completed the program, or most of it. I have been taking one class at a time, but now that I am half way done Id like to try doubling up, but Im not sure which classes I should double up on. So far the classes I have left to take are holistic health, nursing research, management, vulnerable populations, and capstone. Ive been told that I took the easiest classes already and should have doubled up with those, but Id like a second opinion.

Also I do work full time, but have thought about going part time to finish school sooner.

I definitely doubled up at the end. My original plan was to finish in August 2015, however, I found out I was pregnant and due at the end of July. I ended up taking 18-19 credits at a time to finish up by the second week of May 2015 instead. You can do it if you literally only focus on school. I was working part-time too.

Hello,

Can we bump this thread, with more recent content. Can someone tell me if the book required to get a good grade. How is the class now? Which professor did you have? Are group projects still a part of the class? I read that this is the hardest class in the program...I would like to be able to put in the work required and earn an A.

Yes, the textbook was required for my course, and I could not have made an A in this course without the book. I took this course in 2021, and there was no Group Project (yuck!), so you're good there. This class was challenging, and aside from Stats, it was the hardest class out of all of the other nursing courses. However, if you follow the rubric and the instructions on all of the assignments- you will be good. If memory serves me right- there were two difficult quizzes. Just be on top of your game, and you'll do fine.

Thanks J .B.,

I just finished this class and it was definitely the hardest class in the program. The knowledge checks and Research Article Critiques are weighed heavily and are difficult. The research paper once you learn what they want from you isn’t too difficult.
