I applied for the online FNP program at University of Texas Arlington starting Spring 2020 (Jan). I'm wondering if anyone else applied! Also, when do we find out if we got in?

Hi Shannon,
That’s awesome! I would love to join the FB group. Is it the UTA MSN Online Program group?

I am thinking of applying for the April start date. Can anyone share the FB group page. I want to ask questions about the program. Thank you!

hi everyone, I want to apply to the np program. I'm just curious do you feel like it was as hard as getting into a bsn program?

In my situation, it doesn't really compare. There were 600 applicants for my BSN program in 2003 and 30 spots. It was extremely competitive. There are not as many applicants for NP school, so if you meet the requirements and the deadline, they take you on a first come first serve basis. I believe it was GPA >3.0, statistics, and 2+ years experience to apply.

Does anyone know if the gpa requirement is overall gpa or nursing school only gpa? I took non nursing classes at UTA (and did horribly, my gpa took at hit). Then left and did an associate nursing program. Came back to UTA and did the RN-BSN program. So based on the first time around at UTA, my overall gpa is awful, but BSN gpa is 3.2.

I am starting the RN-BSN-FNP next week. Just wondering if anyone has gotten feedback on the average weekly time commitment?

I started at Walden and the "rule of thumb" was 5 hrs per credit/week. I usually did about 10-15 hours/week on those classes. I'm unsure about UTA but that was my experience with Walden.

Karlienurse thank you and the same to you! I am still waiting on my degree plan. I was told that I should have one on Monday. If not, then I start on the 24th of February.

I started too on the RN-BSN-FNP in January. So far it is going well, current class will be done this weekend. I wonder if we have classes together. What do you think of the program so far?
