UTA Fall 2021

Published

Hey guys! I couldn't find a forum for Fall 2021 applications at UT Arlington so I decided to create one! I hope to connect with others who are going through the waiting process.

Hello everyone! I have also applied for the 2021 Fall start. I previously applied in the Summer of 2020 but was told that my 7.3 was not competitive. I was also going to be late for my titers so I withdrew my application. I went and retook Chemistry to improve my GPA and have taken patho as well. So with the patho consideration and my improved GPA, I think I'm right at an 8.1. I have a 3.75 science GPA and a 3.9 overall. I'm currently taking pharm, so I'm hoping that if I'm waitlisted, an A in pharm might save me? I have no other considerations so I'm pretty nervous.

You've completed Intro to Nursing right? They should have sent your info to BON while you were in that course.

No, I haven't taken the course yet. That's why I had to email UTA separately and request that they send my info.

I got an email saying that my application was submitted on time, but when I look at mymav it shows no application data. Does yours show the same? I feel like it should show that an application is submitted.

I was worried about this also. Apparently it doesn’t show up there but the email that was sent out to confirm our application had been submitted is supposed to be our receipt of submission.

Hi everyone,

Glad I found this, I too have applied to the fall AO program with UTA and anxiously awaiting the news. Good or bad, I have my plan to reapply if not admitted. I have Patho/Pharm complete and about an 8.4 in total. I have vaccines, BON blue card and BLS ready to go.

It is intimidating and nerve wracking reading previous posts and comments because students with 8.8 and beyond were waitlisted while others with 7.6 were admitted. I think being partnered has a great deal to do with admission, so it is a HUGE advantage. I am not partnered, but do have a previous degree and have all classes completed for this program. I see that at least the total number of students admitted has increased to 180. I wish we knew how many students applied since UTA did not waive TEAS this time around.

Best of luck to everyone as we wait for the news. Also I was very very interested in the on campus program since they are rolling out the new accelerated on campus program this May. I hear I would have a better chance of getting in to that one, unfortunately the AO was/is more convenient. It will be an interesting new cohort, they will be finished before the students who start August 21. It wouldn't be so bad having to drive to campus 2-3 times per week.

I heard that there were over 900 applicants last  fall. I think that’s why it was so competitive, but I’ve also seen that the most competitive semester is for the fall start program so there may be more that have applied this time.

They're starting to process applications! I got an email today and my degree plan also has points on it

Some of my courses are in red. Does that mean they’re still in the process of validating the grades and my current points RN aren’t final?!

Possibly?? All the courses I have in red are the ones I haven’t taken yet or I’m currently enrolled in.

Same. Some of my courses in red are courses I’m currently enrolled in or will be in the Summer, but my main “Science Courses” are all done but Micro/ A&P2 are still red ?

Did you transfer those courses in? I would call to see what’s going on.

Anyone care to guess how many applicants they may have for this cycle in the AO BSN program?
