UTA Fall 2021

Hey guys! I couldn't find a forum for Fall 2021 applications at UT Arlington so I decided to create one! I hope to connect with others who are going through the waiting process.   

Are they emailing or calling to bring people off the list?

Alycia I think they call and email, at least that's what they told me.

Alycia I think they call and email, at least that's what they told me. 

 

I feel like we can’t share stats unless we also share where our clinical locations are. I felt like my stats were kind of low compared to others’ stats but it was where I picked my clinical site. My score was an 8.1 and I picked Longview as my top choice. Not partnered or anything. But if I had chosen Dallas, I would’ve needed to be partnered to get in with my score.

I missed a call Friday, but I think it was the damned student coordinators who call every few weeks with the obligatory “are you doing okay” phone call which I absolutely HATE! ? But I feel like if the nursing program was calling, they also would have sent an email. ☹️

Hey HDav, sorry for the late response! My total score was right at 8.0 and I applied to campus based. 

I've heard the Fall cohorts have more applicants but I'm honestly a little surprised at how competitive this pool is. I actually applied and got into Spring 2021 cohort with a lower score but had to withdraw from the program because I lost my blue card. (This was incredibly disheartening but I've moved on.) Then when I reapplied for Fall 2021 cohort with a 8.0, I got waitlisted for almost a month! There must be a lot of people applying..  

Also my advisor didn't even call me, I had scheduled an appointment with her and that's when she told me I was taken off the waitlist.... I wasn't too happy about that.

Is it true that UTA college of nursing don’t accept applicants who don’t have any health experience.

No that’s not true, I was accepted and do not have any healthcare experience, now it’s probably easier to get accepted if you’re already a nurse

Nope.  Most of the people in my clinical cohort have no healthcare experience to speak of.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your stats? I’ll be graduating from university of Houston with BS in Nutritional science hopefully soon and I’m really scared that my GPA isn’t high enough. Thanks.
