Hello all! I'm starting a thread for Fall 2016 BSN on-campus and online programs. Please feel free to share where you are in your application process and/or any questions you might have.
I just finished Technical Writing and Transition to Professional Nursing. Both honestly challenged me because I'm also working full time and have an active 6 year old son. I found my biggest hurdle to be the formatting in word documents. Like I probably lost more hair from trying to figure that crap out than the actual writing assignment. If anyone wants to reach out for assistance in either of those courses, I'd be more than happy to help!
The next course I'm taking coming up 02/29 is Holistic Care of the Older Adult. If anyone has input on this class, please let me know!
Hello

cacos, I'm a bit confused about the requirement for UTA. here are my questions: 1) I have taken 24 credit hours courses, this includes 12 science credit hours course. Can I apply to UTA with these courses or Do I need to take more courses? My gpa is 3.5.
2) Do I have to take Hesi exam before starting the pre nursing courses in UTA?
3) What is the cost of the tuition?
Thank you.
If you are inquiring about the AP-BSN program, there are a number of prerequisites that are required prior to application. In response to your questions:
1. The number of prerequisite hours required is 70 total. This includes the following:
Sciences - Biol 2457 (AP I), Engl 2458 (AP II), Biol 2460 (Microbiology), Chem 1451 (Chemistry)
Math - Math 1301 (College Algebra), Math 1308 (Statistics)
History - Hist 1311 (U.S. History to 1865) , Hist 1312 (U.S. History since 1865), Pols 2311 (Federal Govt.), Pols 2312 (State Govt.)
English - Engl 1301 (English Comp I), Engl 1302 (English Comp II), and Engl 2338 (Tech Writing), Engl 2329 (American Lit)
Psychology - Psyc 1315 (Intro. to Psychology), Psyc 3310 Dev. Psychology)
Sociology - Soci 1311 (Intro. to Sociology)
Art - Art 1301 (Art Appreciation)
Elective - Medical Terminology
Additional course: Intro to Professional Nursing, Pharmacology, and Pathophysiology. You can only take Pharmacology and Pathophysiology after you have completed AP I, AP II, and Chemistry.
***All of these course must be completed or will be completed prior to entering upper-dividion nursing courses***
2. The HESI exam must be taken prior to the application deadline. If you are applying for Spring 2017, the deadline is June 1, 2016 or if you are applying for Fall 2017, the deadline is January 2017. I did not reference the deadline for Fall 2016 because it was January 5, 2016.
3. Tuition is dictated by the number of prerequisite hours you need to take. Tuition for an online general course is $504 per course; however, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, and the science courses cost more. Tuition for upper-division nursing courses will cost about $4,500 per semester and books, supplies, and fees will cost an additional $1,500 on average per semester.
