UTA Fall 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

I just applied for the THR/El Centro partnership program. Did they not accept intro to nursing for their hprs requirement? I am waitlisted for UTA and TCU.

Good question!! In plan to apply to el Centeo and have taken intro to nursing. As far as I know they do not!

Thank you so much for the response! What if you didnt get an email? Well hoping for the best but in the mean time I'm accepting el centro program!

I can't figure out how to join... :-(

Try to type the name of the group(AP-BSN Cohort9) on FB search bar. Then it will direct you to a page where you verify with your UTA email in order to join this group.

For those of you that have taken Pharm at UTA, is it necessary to read all of the chapters in the book or just the RRD's? It seems like a ton of reading in just week 1 alone... nine chapters in the book, plus additional pages from other chapters, plus the RRD?? That seems like a lot in one week. Thanks.

I took pharm on campus at uta and we rarely touched the book for tests. We only opened the book for quizzes.

Oh. I'm taking it online and the RRD says to read chapters 1-8, 20, & 21 and parts of Ch. 10 AND most of the RRD the first week for assignment #1. (It's a little over a week, actually. But still.)

Specializes in PCU.

I took the online class. I read the first few chapters, as they're fairly important. Once it got into specifics about the drugs, I only read the RRD and then used the book as a supplement. I also didn't fill out her drug templates as they were too large to study from. Now that I'm gearing up for starting in the fall, I'm going back and modifying her drug templates, so all the information on a drug fits on a single page, and filling them in with pertinent information.

Thanks, Destinmatt!

I think the book is very important. Most of the test questions come from it. I'm a big nerd and like to go back and highlight what I remember from the test and the majority were from the book especially in the last couple

Thanks for the info!!!!

Hello everyone! This is my first post into the forum but I have lurked on here for quite a while! I was accepted into the AP program after being on the wait list. I'm in Houston and will be doing my clinicals at Bayside! I look forward to meeting those of you in Houston!!!!
