UTA FALL 2012

Published

Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

Post away!

Oh I do too!!! LOL!

Just discovered this today, wanted to say hi! I've been accepted to the on-campus program for Fall and am looking forward to meeting everyone and getting started!

I got called off the waiting list last night.

Turned it down. (Going to TWU Dallas instead)

So someone should be getting a call this morning.

And your welcome!

Got a call from UTA last night for the AP program! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

lnm1222, hope you don't mind me asking, are you partnered? If so, with which hospital?

Congrats, very exciting for you!

I am partnered with Cook Childrens and Thank you!!

Congrats lnm1222!

Thank you!! I hope you all get the call soon!

Does anyone have a feeling that they have done making calls...?

I am trying not to, but probably done for this week. We still have until orientation technicially, which also means weeks more of anxiously waiting. I wish they would just say where we are on the list so we can quit having heart attacks every time the phone rings! :)

Ruby,

Honestly, there is absolutely no reason why they couldn't have told us when they sent out the emails on April 20th. They took 3.5 months making their decisions and the waitlist certainly couldn't have been too terribly long. Many nursing schools, law schools, and graduate schools inform you of your position on the waitlist with the initial acceptance letter. I know many of us waitlisters have some classes left to take (namely path and pharm at UTA due to their strictness in what they accept). This equals more tuition money given to UTA. The new facilities and unnecessary changes they are making to attain that special "tier 1" school title cost a lot of money. I am not bitter nor am I angry with UTA, but it further demonstrates that everything is all about money..it's so sad.

I also want to know where my place in the wait list! To be honest with you guys, because I'm an international student so I have to pay a lot more for classes. The only class I'm missing now is intro to nursing and it costs $2,000 at UTA!! I feel like I'm wasting that money for that freshmen class... If I know where I am, I can make a decision more easily...
