How was it finding a job after graduation? And finding clinical preceptors? Was it difficult?

I had a job before graduation and so did many others. The people that had difficulty finding preceptors and obtaining employment after graduation had no psych experience prior to the PMHNP program. I had years of networking in the psych world to draw from in finding preceptors in a variety of settings. Others resorted to cold calling offices/hospitals and paying services to find them preceptors. If you are not working psych now I would start.

Specializes in OR.

Of those of you who know people in the FNP or PMHNP program are the reviews good? Meaning do the students feel as they are being taught well.  Is the work load reasonable to manage with a full time job. Is the assignments mainly test or lots of papers. Are the instructors easily reached?  I have a lot of the core classes completed as I already have masters in nursing.  I will need to take Pharmacology, Assessment and another course.  I am considering applying here. Are test proctored?  Sorry I know lots of questions!!

Specializes in clinical research and nursing education.

@Determined621,were you able to start your classes..

Hey there! Anyone who has started the UT Arlington PMHNP program able to comment on/describe the classes and what they are like, the professors, work/life management, cost, and whether you can do part time or full-time while working normal nursing schedule?  I'm considering applying to UTarlington vs University of south carolina online pmhnp program.  Thank you for any information you provide!
