UTA BSN Online Spring 2019

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hey everyone!

Just curious as to how many of us are applying to UTA's AO BSN for Spring 2019.

I'm planning on applying, but scared that I might not get accepted the first time.

Overall GPA should be roughly 3.06, Science GPA 3.75. 3 considerations.

I had an advising appointment earlier this week, and she said if I retake History (made a D), it would better my chances, but I am considered 'highly competitive' with my 3 considerations.

Thank you! I've just been freaking out lately. I called advising and they told me that as long as you get a proficient score on the teas exam, that's all they care about. They don't take the actual score into consideration when ranking students. So, that's a relief. Who are you taking patho with? I think my instructor is Davis.

Amber your stats look great to me too. They're higher than mine. My overall GPA is lower but sciences is 4.0 and I have three considerations.

How do I calculate my exact point totals can someone help me? I'll have to check my overall GPA tho cause I just got two A's and only one is input from spring classes so far.

And PS I'm in patho right now with Dr Urban and In Mrs. D-L section too! 🙌👍 We could be "study buddies!

Hey Krystal from San Antonio. I applied for the spring 2019. I am currently taking pharm and all my other pre reqs are complete. I applied for the fall 2018 and was waitlisted. I don't have the best grades but I have 2 considerations and I am partnered. I have a 3.31 overall and 3.0 science. scored a 75 on my teas. Honest truth. I won't be that bummed if I don't get in. After working at the hospital and seeing first hand the nurses attitudes and workload I'm like mehh. It isn't my passion either. but it will pay the bills. I COULD have a heart for it if I found the right specialty. I am sticking it out until I find out if I got in or not...if I didn't I am not reapplying I am moving on. I don't know that many nurses that love their jobs. I work with them daily, I work with patients daily...it isn't what I thought it would be. I thought I would be helping to save lives or making a difference...but mostly you are following orders, you have mmaaaybe 5 min to get in and out of a pt room and there is never ending charting. I am in it because I am too far in to quit. but I wish you all the best.

I'm in Patho right now and can't imagine taking it with anything else! would recommend taking it alone :)

Hi JLA48,

I was under the impression that UTA requires you to take the teas and not the HESI, I am too late to apply for the Spring 2019, since I haven't taken the teas or applied to UTA. so I will probably apply for the Fall 2019. My Overall GPA is not that great either I have a 3.1 overall GPA and a 3.6 GPA in my nursing pre-reqs, I still have technical writing and statistics left to take. this whole process is just so nerve wrecking... I am also thinking on applying to TWU, although I heard they are also very competitive... well I hope we can all get accepted as well.... I am 31 years old and like you said we aren't getting any younger.. what guides did you use to study for the teas or Hesi?

Well, today's the application deadline. :o

I imagine this thread is going to get pretty busy lol

Best of luck to EVERYONE, and good luck in your summer classes if you're taking any!

Hi Krys9700!

I feel as if we have similar stats and both partnered. I am at a Methodist location in Houston! May I ask what your considerations are?

Thanks,

Casey

I hope so too! :) Do you know any other partnered applicants from Methodist?

Hey y'all, quick question. Has anyone taken Pharm with Intro to Nursing? Would it be tough or feasible? Also, has anyone had Cynthia Koomey for Pharm? If so how is she? Can't find any info on rate my prof (kinda scared).

I took Intro to Nursing with Pharm & Patho this summer, it's not too bad! I took it online with Kristin Sterling; her exams were super straight-forward. And we had a review for each one. The final is not comprehensive
