Hi all,
I am applying for the AP BSN Program for the Spring 2011 and was wondering if anyone has received any word on the acceptance letter or any information in general? I am really hoping to get into the program for Spring of 2011 and am extremely nervous. I honestly dont think ill be able to get into the program because my GPA isn't as competitive as others who are applying. Well any information on anything will be extremely helpful!

The HESI is pretty much the same anywhere you take it..... A majority of the nursing programs use the same testing system (evolve) to register for the HESI A2 Exam. I would strongly recommend to purchase the "Admission Assessment Exam Review: Hesi" .... Here's the ISBN #978-4160-5635-5. That book definitely increased my score dramatically. I HIGHLY suggest u to purchase it and study the book at least 2 weeks before the actual HESI Exam. My overall grade on the HESI was a 94%. UTA only required me to take the Math, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, vocabulary, and the personality sections of the exam. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions.. email me! Good Luck!

i am sure you are fine, you had good scores and all right? When i talked to the advisor she said lots of people were accepted that really did not think they had a chance and would call her all cheery saying i thought I was out!!1 lol... I have to take the rest of my AAS courses like Govt one more Hist, and the wonde4rful additional englishes. And of course those three courses they want you to take there. i should be able to get those all done by the end of aug with their programs online, right? Have you taken anhy of their classes online? And if so what are they like? hard? middle easy? Thanks and praying for you

I was told by my advisor that the 3 pre-nursing courses that MUST be finished prior to beginning the BSN Program could be completed at El Centro College (DCCCD) only. The courses Im taking at El Centro is Pathophysiology and Pharmacology and I am doing very well in them so far. The Intro. to Professional Nursing course has to be taken at UTA and I thought it was middle easy. I eventually made an A in it but I had to put a lot of my time into it since it was only a 5 week course. I just checked my mail for today and still DID NOT receive any letter of acceptance/rejection into the BSN program. UGHHHHH!!!!!! Im sooooo fustrated and anxious.
When did u talk to your advisor about the large amount of people getting accepted into the program? my Hesi score was high but my GPA is kinda on the iffy side. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! lol! I need all the support I can get..... hehe.
Lil, I am taking Pathophysiology and Pharmacology online at UTA. Patho is the easier class; as long as you follow the required readings and do the practice exam questions in the online modules, you'll do great. Pharm is moderately difficult, as most of the questions are of the "case study" type. I spend probably 3/4 of my time studying Pharm. The professor holds live Adobe sessions online where we can chat with her and the class by typing and/or talking through a headset. The sessions are very helpful. She also clearly states what we are expected to know on each test. Both Patho and Pharm are 12 weeks long and they tend to be synonymous in topics, which makes it a little easier.
Kat, I am also waiting for an acceptance/rejection letter for Spring 2011; I am extreeeemely anxious as well. No luck with the mail today. Maybe we will get them Monday the 15th?! Praying for everyone. Ya know, we will all get accepted eventually. By 2025, the U.S. will have a shortage of at least 250,000 nurses; they should accept us all!
Someone in my pharm class said that the letters that were sent out on the 8th were for the regular nursing problem, not the AP program, and that the AP letters were going to be mailed either Friday (the 12th) or early this week (yesterday or today?). So maybe that is why we haven't received anything yet.
