Creating for UT Southwestern 2025 Summer Residency

I managed to get an interview for the last cohort in the OR, wasn't chosen for that residency. I applied for this upcoming one and did not land a single interview for specialties or medsurge.I knew it's competitive but I didn't know it was THIS difficult.
I'm so sorry! That is frustrating. If it were me, I would send a follow up email to the recruiters and maybe ask? I would ask for feedback on my application to see if I accidentally had something wrong, etc. I hope everything works out for you!

I appreciate you!
I did send a follow up email to them (which was the only way I found out this morning that I wasn't chosen for an interview), and unfortunately their response was vague. I had my cover letter and resume reviewed by my college's career center, had plenty letters of recommendation, etc.
Do not get discouraged! I graduated in December and applied to various hospitals and didn't get any offers. Things are looking better for me this cohort. I applied to almost every hospital in the DFW. I would do all the interviews you can and try to stay positive, DFW is extremely competitive. You could have a great interview and still not get an offer which is discouraging but all you can do is be patient and stay positive.

I would say the only advice I'd give to get first dibs on anything would be to work as a PCT, nurse extern or unit clerk within a hospital system that has a nurse residency. DFW is so competitive and that's been something I've seen with classmates that apply as internal.

I tried to go that route (applied as an Anesthesia Tech) since I have that experience in the OR. Got an interview and was told I was overqualified for it due to obtaining my BSN, so that I should apply for the residency. After that they decided to pursue other candidates.

I believe the last day for interviews is March 7th so maybe after that?
