Hi All,
Just submitted my application to UT Southwestern's GN internship program beginning in July 2015. Hoping for the critical care or ER track. Has any one else applied? Will they be hiring more applicants this year due to their new facility? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi! I have accepted a position with UTSW for the July 2015 internship as well! I will be doing Med Surg. Very excited to get started! I'll be moving from Atlanta with my husband and two boys. Would love to meet you guys and get in touch before orientation starts!
Can you give us an update on how the Med Surg internship is going for you? I interviewed for Med Surg for the fall internship. Thank you!
Hi! The internship is great! I just found out yesterday where my home unit is gonna be. Excited!! I started 07/20 and we rotated all Med Surg floors. There are several: Rehab, Ortho, plastics, neuro, Urology, cardiac, heart/lung/liver/kidney transplants, general Med Surg etc.. We rotated both CUH and Zale Hospitals. Both hospitals are great with pros and cons of each. Up until this point we did most 8 hours shifts Monday through Friday with only 4 shifts being 12 hours. From now on, we start (3) 12 hour shifts following our preceptor on our home unit (which will take 4 weeks). Then we have 4 weeks of what's called resource week where we'll be on our own, but still following our preceptor schedule and having her/him as a resource in case we need help. Hope that helps?? Good luck!!! :)

Thank you! Yes, that does help because I was wondering about the shifts. So glad that it is working out for you! I did receive an offer but I now also have offers from Baylor and Med City. Decisions. Decisions!
Hi everyone,
I have been looking for people that have applied for the GN residency for UTSW starting in Feb 2017 and thought I would piggy back off this post since some of you have already been hired.
I applied for the critical care track and got an interview which was this Tuesday. I think it went mostly well
but I was very nervous throughout so idk if that messed me up. I so want this Job, UTSW seems like such a great hospital and I love that they really value their nurses. By any chance do any of y'all know how many graduate nurses they are hiring in ICU?
Thanks in advance.
No i have not. I called last week and they told me that they had names already but that mine was not on the list and that it was a short list so to not lose hope yet. It's been two weeks since the interview so I'm assuming they aren't calling back the HR lady said they would send out rejection letters when they've made the decision so to keep checking emails until then. Have you heard anything?
