i only applied to uth. nothing like having all of your eggs in one basket!

LOL Josh,

I know of several people that did that; however, at my age, I don't have alot of time to wait. So, for me, putting in three applications for the Fall 2006 semester was the best option for me. Let's just say I'm a "late bloomer"! LOL :roll

at 30, i'm not quite a spring chicken myself. i actually sort of dropped the ball on this one. i would feel much better right now if i had applied to a few more schools. live and learn!

How in the heck did you finish the 40 hours of pre-reqs(or whatever number of pre-reqs are required to apply) at the age of 18? When did you start college?!!!!...Just out of curiosity :)

hahaha! Yah, I know...I'm a youngin. But I finished half of my prerequisites during high school and now I'm @ North Harris finishing the last few of them off. It'll be pretty great to have a Bachelors Degree by the age of 20 though!

Oh! and I know this is slightly off topic, but what are yall planning to wear?

I will be coming from work, so will have scrubs on. Luckily, I'll be right across the street at MD Anderson and won't have to come up with another parking space!

That is pretty neat-wish I would have had that much foresight in high school:bugeyes: !!

Oh and something tells me not to buy into the "dress attire is casual" statement in the letter. Its just not me anyways. Regardless of the fact, Ill be comin from work and likely will be wearing a skirt and heels which is the usual-definitely not a suit or serious business attire though. What about everyone else?

i think my version of "casual" might just be WAY more casual than they had in mind! i'll probably wear khakis and a button-up shirt (which is what i consider "dressy", but probably what they consider casual. since there is no face to face interview, it might not matter at all what you wear.

i wonder what sort of questions they're going to ask...

...Anyone else apply to UTMB for Fall '06 regular admission? Has anyone heard anything from them yet?

Yeah I applied there too, but I haven't heard from them yet. It's my understanding that they won't mail any thing out until March.

If anyone has their appointment on the 21st and is in Austin area.... want to carpool? It would be great to have someone to chat with.

I had this funny vision of all of us on this forum/board showing up at the school before our appointments and having "airport signs" with each others usernames on pieces of posterboard like people do at airports when they are pickin up people they have never met!

That would be hilarious!!

so is anyone else terrible at tooting their own horn? i'm not really into bragging on myself...i hope the writing prompt isn't "explain why we should choose you over the other candidates" or anything like that.

I know exactly what you mean. At least if it were a verbal interview, one could be humble and still sell his/herself. Its hard to convey humility on paper! Oh well, I once had a boss that use to day, "If you don't toot your own horn, who will?"

At this point, I just want to get it over with and find out what's going on. If I'm accepted, I'll need to hurry up and get into a philosophy class over the summer.
