UT Houston (Fall 2014 applicants)

Published

Hello Future Nurses,

Wanted to know if anyone was preparing to take the Hesi a2, and or applying to UT Houston before the Jan. 15, 2014 deadline for Fall 2014???? I would like to form a study forum!!

Mine is still incomplete and I have the admissions hold. The April 15th date is what I was given as well for when acceptances/denials would be out...which is 3 weeks from today.

Didn't you already accept at utmb though? (Not stalking you) lol I know they said you have ten days to accept their acceptance.

Lol I did already accept utmb, though I am still waiting to see if I got into UTHealth so I can really decide which one if I am even given the option lol. I accepted just in case I didn't get into UTHealth so I didn't lose my spot.

For those that had problems with evals being wrong, how long did it take for them to fix the problems ?

Oooohhhh, so if you get in at uth, I can have your spot at utmb? :p just kidding.

i was concerned about that being a problem but I wouldn't be able to put up a deposit "just in case". Utmb is my #1. Not my husband's though. Haha. He doesn't want us to move down there, but he's willing to sacrifice. You've said uth is your top just because of commute, right? You HAVE to get in if you're getting in the honors program at utmb. That'd be crazy if you didn't. Uth is just crazy slow. :/

I didn't get into the honors program at utmb. I was one of the ones that interviewed for it, though and was given a partial scholarship for every semester. They never said how much the scholarship was though.

I wouldnt really say one or the other is a top choice-I want to be able to make a decision if I am accepted at both to eliminate any "what ifs" I might've had if I had just accepted admission at utmb just bc they took me first and not even looked at UTHealth. There are many things that have swayed me from utmb to UTHealth but I wouldn't say my mind is fully made up yet. Obviously being accepted at UTHealth is a big part otherwise I don't have even have a choice lol!

I honestly don't know I am just waiting to hear back from UT H now and possibly A&M but I got wait listed last year so I am not getting my hopes up

My Stats: 3.8 prereq, 4.0 Science, 94 Hesi but a 760 critical thinking! I completely blew it on that. I thought I was running out of time :( I hope that doesn't kill my chances. I also have a degree from Texas State in Exercise and Sport Science

I emailed them and they responded same day with the corrections!

Originally it was A&M and UT H second but those chances are looking slim :/ I accepted UTMB and TWU and even had to pay a $200 deposit at UTMB but I didn't want to take a risk :( It's going to be a tough decision idk which one I like better

@rquinn1989 did you email the admissions office ?

Yep! She actually replied to my email at 1:30 am, and I had sent it at 4:30 the previous afternoon.

Specializes in ICU.

I've gotten into two schools at this point, though both are private so pretty expensive. The first was TCU, and the other is Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

I have a green circle on my account, and no holds. However, I finished my courses in spring 2013 so they already have my final transcript.

UTH is definitely my first choice, so I'm really hoping we'll hear from them soon. The waiting sucks.
