Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!
I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.
Stats:
HESI Overall: 92.4
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88
Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.41
My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!
I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).
So I’ve been thinking.... why do only certain people get transcript evaluations? I wonder if it has to do with courses you have in progress. Those who get an evaluation don’t always get accepted and those who don’t get an evaluation sometimes get accepted. Any thoughts?

I got one, but had all my prerequisites finished before applying - so no in progress courses. I did however have two separate institutions that I sent transcripts from, so I'm thinking that played a factor in me receiving one (especially since one of the institutions did the plus/minus system). Buuut that's just my guess..
I hate to seem like a Debbie downer, but I'm wanting opinions.. Is everyone planning on reapplying for the Fall if denied for this summer? I'm so torn since the Fall is supposedly the "hardest" to get into and the summer the "easiest". I'm also hesitant since I'd be sending in the exact same application (no change in GPA and I didn't retake the HESI). Gosh I hope we find out tomorrow, I hate the what-ifs going through my head since January! Fingers crossed!!

I am definitely gonna reapply if need be, and there will be no change in my application.
If I remember correctly, there was a spot on the application that asked if you had previously applied. So maybe that means you have a greater chance of being accepted the second time, or at the very least they will for sure consider your application and not overlook it. But some people have said they have applied multiple times & been denied over and over... however we don't know their stats or acedemic history.
For sure there are a lot of what if's, but I will be applying to both UTH and Lone Star for Fall if need be. Luckily with Lone Star's scoring system, you basically know if you will get in or not.

Yes, I would reapply. But my case is a bit different, I don't think I could do a full 24 months for nursing school since I already have another Bachelor's lol. At that point, I should just keep doing my current job and save up and try again in a few years.

Welllll as you know lol I got one and had courses in progress and ended up having an error on it and then never got the revised one. I think it’s just by chance who gets one and who doesn’t. From wat I’ve heard everyone has one done but not everyone gets theirs mailed out I guess? Idk why they wouldn’t just mail them all.

Yea I’ve honestly thought about the same thing and sometimes feel as if maybe I wouldnt get into fall if I wasn’t even able to get in for summer. But like someone mentioned there is somewhat a trend of those reapplying getting in on their second try especially if they were waitlisted in the previous try but it’s hard to gauge because sometimes people apply again and again and still don’t get in. However, I will be reapplying to UTH but will also attempt to apply to other schools like TWU and UTMB. I pretty much only applied to UTH this time around.

Yeah I didn't get mine again this semester at the same time as everyone else so I'll probably have to ask for it again. Last semester made me question if they check everyones since it was dated after acceptances went out.
So I know I said I was guna stay off allnurses until the end of business day but came back on to say that I just checked my postal mail through that app that lets you view your mail and guess what seems to have come in the mail? My second transcript Eval lol. I assume it’s that Becuz I can’t think of anything else it could be. Here’s to it being a good omen that we’ll get decisions today!! Lol
