UT Health Pacesetter Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!

I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.

Stats:

HESI Overall: 92.4

Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88

Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.41

My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!

I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

May be a crazy question but does anyone have any free time on their hands where they could look at the old Summer '18 thread and see if we should start hearing back on either Thursday 2/28 or Friday 3/1 ? I have a burnt orange sweater I'd like to wear for luck on whatever day it is, but I'm not trying to wear it on the wrong day ? Also does anyone know if they roll out the emails in alphabetical order?

I was literally looking through it last night lol. They got the notification on March 2nd and it wasn’t on alphabetical order.

Ok so March 2nd was a Friday so I'm going to guess it's Friday 3/1! If i remembered correctly I don't think they send them out over the weekend, so the first batch comes out on Friday and then trickles into the next week.. WOW ya'll that's only 2.5 weeks from now!!

So do y'all think they don't send out all of the acceptances on the same day?

From past threads I've seen people post the following week about them being accepted, but I can't answer whether that means they didn't receive their notification on the same day or if they just didn't check their status until then ?‍♀️

I’m not sure. I know last summer some were commenting on March 3rd that they had gotten in, but they could have Heard back on the 2nd and just commented late.

Ahh, I am so excited! I am going to be a nervous wreck until I find out. On another note, I hope someone else is going to be looking for housing near the med center, because I will be coming for college station and am slightly worried about finding a good roommate to live with. I know I shouldn't worry about that until I am accepted or not, but I am a planner!

Never hurts to plan ahead, I'm sure you won't be alone!

Idk if this is good information or not, but I heard the committee that makes the admissions decision meets ONE day. That honestly seems like a lot of applications to go through in one day.

Maybe it’s a bunch of people and they divide it amongst themselves? Idk but yea it definitely seeems like a bunch to do. But then again we never know the difference between the amount of people that applied and the amount of people that the admissions committee will actually look at. Maybe they’ve been screening apps and only send certain ones through. Maybe with certain GPAs and HESI scores and the apps that aren’t missing anything and have all the required coursework to be eligible for admission.

I just got a call from the registrar and they were indeed factoring in any withdrawals into my overall GPA ,which made my gpa go way down. I suggestion if anyone has as issue with their overall gpa that they call and make sure this was not the case for you so they can fix it and send out a new evaluation with an updated gpa.

Hey RNDestinyy did you get that updated evaluation? I’m also waiting for one so was wondering if you had received yours.
