Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!
I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.
Stats:
HESI Overall: 92.4
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88
Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.41
My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!
I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

Maybe they somehow missed a grade or didn’t input a grade correctly which is causing the discrepancy in your transcript. Or were you adding in grades they had yet to receive like in progress course work? Regardless of the reason don’t let that discourage you! A 3.3 GPA is great and it’s just one small aspect of your application. I’ve even seen people say they don’t weigh the overall into their decision. And the fact you got cum laude is a huge accomplishment!! So many things to be proud of!! As far as the military credits are you depending on those credits to meet the 40 hrs or to count for the 60 hrs of nursing prerequisites? I would say they may not accept it because the deadline has passed but I would call first thing Monday morning and ask them. If someone tells you they won’t accept it I would honestly maybe even call again and verify with someone else because sometimes different people give different info. I would also just send it in again just in case. The fact that they cleared it may just mean this is all a big mistake!! Let us know what they say and I hope it all works out!!
Thank you immensely. No, I am not relying on the missing transcript to qualify me. As I am at 45/60 completed via the evaluation, but I've knocked out 54/60 since the deadline. I am just aware that some colleges think that a missing transcript may mean that I didn't do well at that institution. I will surely call them on Monday just to confirm. I applied to another accelerated program at Baylor, but I was not accepted due to NursingCAS lagging behind in their transcript evaluations. ( I digress). This process is definitely a learning experience. Wishing you the best.
Yes I agree. Every twist and turn is just another opportunity to learn something. I just hope these twists and turns don’t cause us to lose out on the opportunity to be considered for this term! I wish you nothing but the best also.

I never received one at all! There’s always a rumor that goes around about how “only people that get the transcript eval are going to get in” and that’s so not true as you can see! Don’t stress about it ?

So I’m a little confused. They also are requesting a transcript that I sent in already and was cleared from the check list. The transcript is for my military credits and doesn’t affect My GPA.
Any know if they will accept the transcript if I resend it?
The only reason I can think of this happening is because there were classes on your transcript that weren’t required. In that case, they “throw those out” of your GPA which could cause it to drop.
They may be requesting another transcript if you sent it in electronically. Some grades don’t show up until it’s physically mailed in to the registrar’s office. I’m not sure about why, but it was an issue for me as well for an AP class.
I hope that helps a little ?
Soooooo I just got my transcript evaluation and I’m a little concerned because I calculated my overall GPA as a 3.7 but on the paper it says 3.1. I would really like to know how they calculated that because I’m so confused. My nursing gpa is a 3.8 and my science gpa is a 4.0 so how can my overall gpa be a 3.1.. ?
also how heavily do they look at your overall gpa when making the admission decisions?

There may be classes that are not included in your nursing and science GPA that may be bringing your overall GPA down. My science is a 4.0 and my nursing prerequisite is a 3.8 also but they calculated my overall as a 3.075. I know they did it right because I have classes that have nothing to do with nursing that i took 7 years ago that I did poorly on due to lack of focus. Also, another nursing school I applied to told me the same overall GPA. Maybe there are some classes like that for you too and that is what they are calculating into your overall GPA? I just hope they don’t weigh the overall too heavily. Keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

If you want to be really sure as to why I would try to call Monday. Seems as though many of us will be hounding them bright and early on Monday! ? I know I will until I hopefully get in contact with someone ?.

I very much hope that Ws aren’t included in GPA. Though I don’t see how they could be because my transcript for Lone Star has a cumulative GPA of 3.8ish, and I have 3 or 4 Ws.
