Was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but I'm too anxious!
I am applying for the Summer 2019 application cycle at UT Health Science in Houston.
Stats:
HESI Overall: 92.4
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.88
Science Pre-req GPA: 4.0
Cumulative GPA: 3.41
My science Pre-req is excluding Chemistry. I'll be taking that in the Spring along with a few last minute pre-reqs. I have 2 F's in random classes on my transcript from a few year ago when I lost my mode of transportation. Unfortunately that's bringing my cumulative GPA down. Still feel like I have a shot though, so I am applying!
I'll also be applying for UTMB Fall 2019, Lone Star Fall 2019, and reapplying to UT Health Fall 2019 (if need be).

I also work as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens, but I’m not sure if that played any role into my acceptance!
***ALSO!!! Very important!!! If you took any AP classes in high school you MUST MAIL A COPY OF YOUR FINAL TRANSCRIPT IN to the registrar’s office!!!*** Trust me, it’ll save you a BUNCH of headache!!
If it’s any consolation, we just took our first test this past week (Care 1) and I scored a 94% on it. It’s not that it wasn’t hard, I just studied the right things. I’ll talk more about how to study for each class (and what each class is) once acceptance letters go out and we have a solid facebook group going!

Is it true that the summer semester isn't as competitive than fall and spring?
Yes and no! Fall is the most competitive (i was waitlisted and later denied) in 2018. There were about 1600 applicants! Spring is the middle of the road with about 1200 applicants and then there’s summer with 1000-1200 applicants- it just depends!
Most people don’t want to start in the summer though so it is less competitive! ?

That’s a lot more than I thought. If I was nervous before I’m super nervous now ?. My grades are no where near most of the people but I also do know a wide range of people get accepted so who knows? No harm in trying!

Speaking of! I’m going to plan a meet and greet before school (once finals are over but before boot camp!) so that we can all meet each other and have plenty of uninterrupted time to talk and get to know one another beforehand! ?

I noticed that you said you were wait listed for the fall term, but was later accepted for the spring term. Is it true that there is a trend that if you were wait listed but didn't get in that you have a better chance of getting in the next term?
I have a letter from Cizik in my mailbox today! Curious as to what it will say. (The post office sends me photos of my mail each morning). Fingers Crossed
