UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

My portal has not changed. Still under review.

My portal has not changed either, but I just received my denial letter in the mail and it is dated from November 5th. No idea why the portal wouldn't have been updated :(

wow they're all over the place with their notifications!

Was denied this afternoon! HESI score was low (89), so I'm going to retake it and try next semester.

Just checked my portal and it says denied!

Finally my portal updated to denied. Good luck to everyone who was accepted and to everyone else who wasn't. Remember there is a plan for us all! Don't ever give up on your dream.

Yup So I was denied as well, no shock there! I will be attending Sam Houston Nursing school in January! Congratulations to all who got accepted!! For all those who got denied as well, keep on pushing!! Try again in the spring and apply to more than one program! Good luck!

Hello! Has anyone who's been accepted taken science courses including the lab online through Dallas County Community College? Or anyone who had a transcript evaluation been told the lab won't count? I'm conflicted, because the UT site states they accept online course work as long as the institution is regionally accredited, but during the webinar I was in yesterday, they said they do not accept online labs. Transcripts don't differentiate which courses are taken online vs in class, so I'm not sure how they would even know if a course was online? Just wanted to see if anyone could help me out. I'm aapplying for Summer 2019 and don't want to push it back to Fall 2019 :(

I took A&P 2 online through Dallas County this past summer due to extenuating circumstances (the in-person course I was registered for got cancelled last minute because not enough people registered). I applied to UTHSC and got admitted for this spring 2019. There was never any issue with my course and it showed up correctly on the transcript eval. An advisor for the school I will be attending (A&M) told me that schools can't tell what is online vs.not, because there is not distinction on the transcript. Hope this helps!

Do you live in the Dallas area? I'm thinking if they see I took a course at DCCC but my address is in Houston that they would just assume it was taken online :(

Congratulations to all that have been accepted! Can you tell me who you received an acceptance email from?

Hi All,

I am hoping to get into UT health, but I still have to take my Hesi exam.

How long would you recommend studying for the test before taking it?

I am a 4.0 student at Lonestar college and will be done with all my prerequisites this mid December.

I was hoping to start studying for Hesi right after finals and apply for the summer program but

the deadline is January 15.

Am I cutting it too close?

Should I just try my luck for fall 2019?

Thanks for any input.

I say shoot for summer!

Honestly, I studied for about two weeks if that for the HESI & cut a 93% overall on it. Personally, I didn't find it as difficult as some made it out to seem and it was all pretty basic stuff. With your 4.0 GPA I'd say you're more than prepared to take it and do well.

Just trust your gut and don't overthink the questions, you'll do great!!
