UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

So I just spoke to the nursing recruiter that I currently babysit for and she said whatever you do to stay away from Chamberlain because recruiters don't want to hire them. So definitely stay away if you can. She said for some reason hospitals love WGU nurses and of course students that attend brick and mortar schools. For anyone that doesn't know about WGU it's fully online and they are affiliated with medical center hospitals for clinicals. Also the total cost is about $12,000 and you can start at anytime during the year.

Has anyone been denied yet? Do you think they'll actually wait till the 15th to send denials?

Where did you get total cost of $12,000? In looking at the WGU site, it says $5445 per semester, and their nursing program is 2.5 years.

I was waitlisted.

Hello! Has anyone who's been accepted taken science courses including the lab online through Dallas County Community College? Or anyone who had a transcript evaluation been told the lab won't count? I'm conflicted, because the UT site states they accept online course work as long as the institution is regionally accredited, but during the webinar I was in yesterday, they said they do not accept online labs. Transcripts don't differentiate which courses are taken online vs in class, so I'm not sure how they would even know if a course was online? Just wanted to see if anyone could help me out. I'm aapplying for Summer 2019 and don't want to push it back to Fall 2019 :(

I believe they could possibly tell the difference by the course number (if the online lab and in person lab have a different course number). Other than that I'm not sure how they could tell the difference. I didn't receive a transcript eval, so I have no clue what is all on it.

The course numbers are the same. I took a psych ans and English class online and had an official transcript sent to me, they have the same course number as well and nothing on the transcript showed anything that said online course or distance education..

Hey you guys, congrats to those that were admitted!! I'm a current J1 at UT Health and wanted to be here if you had any questions!

I also have an apartment in the med center and I'm looking for a roommate starting either in December or January. I'm a 20 year old female and I actually ride my bike to class every day. The apartment complex is Equinox which is 1.5 miles away from class on old Spanish trail, between 288 and Almeda. The apartment is 2 bed/2 bath with a balcony looking at the pool and with a kitchen and laundry room in the apartment unit. There's a workout room and pool table on the first floor and a gated parking garage connected to the building. With all prices included (water, electricity, rent, valet trash/pet fees) it's under $1,000 a month, and without pets, it's even less. If you're interested, let me know and I can send you some pictures or more information.

Congrats again on your acceptance!

Nicole Y.
