UT Health Pacesetter Spring 2019

Published

I know its a bit early to start this forum seeing as the deadline is September 1; however, I wanted to have a place to communicate with all the people applying for the spring semester. we might be able to help each other out with information about deadlines, application status, plus its also nice to talk with people going through the same thing as you. I'll just start by introducing myself.

My name is Edera,

I am currently a senior in High School. I will be graduating High School with my Associate's degree, thanks to the dual credit classes I have been taking. When I finish High School I will have 40 of the 60 credit hours completed. I will be taking Chemistry, Microbiology, and Growth & Development in the Summer, and then Intro to Sociology, Statistics, and Nutrition in the Fall. I have yet to take my Hesi, I plan on taking it in June or August. I plan on starting the application this week.

Hope to see many of you here, so that we are able to help out one another. Good Luck everyone!! xhappy2.png.pagespeed.ic.zjIVMhQq4z.webp

Out of curiosity would anybody consider Chamberlain since they are still taking applications for the Spring? I'm so anxious to get my nursing degree already that I'm considering it but idk if it'll be worth it. I do know it's more expensive but does anyone know of someone that has actually gone there?

I heard it's around 65k and that's ONLY if they accept ALL of your pre req credits. If not it's even pricier, would you be willing to wait until fall so you can apply to other programs?

A note to all future applicants of UTHealth!! Please please apply to more than one program, even if you have an AMAZING GPA & Test score !!! There are too many of us that put all of our eggs in one basket and that's just so unrealistic when only 12% of all applicants get in.

I feel you. I created a forum for chamberlain and someone replied with this information in case you haven't spoken to someone from there.

The meeting with the advisor went great! I suggest that you should apply to this school, she seemed very knowledgable about everything and answered all my questions. I will be taking my HESI next Friday. If you apply before next Monday, I believe, you get your application fee waived as well as your HESI exam fee waived. So my application and HESI test is now free! The parts of the HESI that we would be taking includes reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, math, anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, personality profile, and lastly learning styles. You need to obtain a 73 as your overall score to get considered an admission.

Thanks for your input. I'm going to inquire and see what would transfer and the ballpark price of how much it would cost. I'm also going to speak to mother of the child that I currently care for. I know it isn't coincidence that she turned out to be a nursing recruiter so I'm going to get her input of how she feels in regards to hiring grads from Chamberlain or another school such as WGU. I'll be sure to update you guys. I know she's worked for major hospitals.

Uh has a pacesetter program in Sugar land that's a bit cheaper than UT and it's only 12 months. It actually has higher NCLEX pass rates than UT houston. They only do new classes once a year unlike UT houston that does it 3x a year.

I believe you already need a Bachelor's degree or an RN.

I also got placed on the waiting list the 30th. Does anyone know how many people get placed on the waiting list? Also, has anyone heard anything else?

When will the portal ever change ? Lol

I met with them last year and I think their pass rate is 100% which is INSANE. insanely awesome. but 12 months?!?! that's soooo intense. not sure i can do that.
