Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).
I'll start:
I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.
I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.
God bless.
I too called just now and was told by the admin lady that all acceptances have not been sent out and she said they're "aiming for November 15" to officially send them out. I informed her of what another person had said about all acceptances being sent out already and she reassuringly told me, "Well, AllNurses can definitely be your enemy at times haha but no, all official notices will be given by November 15 and we have not sent them all out yet." I'm not sure if maybe it was a miscommunication or misunderstanding but for all of us whose portals still remain on "application under review," know that there is hope and not all acceptances have been sent out. Nothing is official apparently until November 15 so hang in there. :) Also, if all decisions have already been sent out, all of us should've received SOME type of official notice whether it be waitlisted, accepted, or denied. If anyone wants to call and confirm, I called 713-500-2100, chose extension 3 for all admissions-related questions, and spoke to the lady in the office of Admissions Affairs. I hope this helps to ease some feelings of anxiety and worry!

Thank you for sharing, I had the feeling there was something missing. The odds of all of us following this blog, whether posting or not, still with an "under review" status and no trace of any waitlisiting didn't quite add up. Hopefully that is true, and all acceptances have not been sent out yet!
Is anyone else's application under an active status? Mines used to say complete when we could check it through the old portal, but it changed to active with the new portal. And now I feel like it should say complete or under review as most of the ones in the comments. So I called today and asked, and she basically said that as long as I can login to applyuth, the application is submitted. Does that even make sense?
&& congratz to all of that you got accepted! I got waitlisted last semester, so I thought I had a chance this year. But I guess we have yet to see.
Hi Everyone! I'm the one who called this afternoon . I didn't misunderstand anything! The person I spoke to pretty much lied to me. She said "what second wave if acceptances, we sent them all out." I felt kind of dumb!! I kept asking her to clarify how the acceptances were going out & I think I upset her that she lied. I'm sorry guys! Either way I found it weird that nobody was waitlisted yet! I don't appreciate how some people answer with such a positive answer & then some get upset when you want to find out something. Thank you for clarifying , my hope is going back up :)
Yeah, depending on who you speak to when you call, you usually always gets different answers. Sometimes the ladies can be very friendly and nice while the others are quite blunt and get to the point. I think the lady you spoke to, maybe was tired from all the phonecalls they must have been getting? Im not sure haha. There usually is a second wave of admittances based on past forums unless UTHealth decided to change it this semester. I am still praying for all of you guys!! Do not give up!
I know! I was asking about the second set of acceptances and she was getting annoyed saying there were no more. I did apologize for calling specifically for that reason because I was sure hundreds of people were calling about the same thing! ... I've also emailed PVAMU since I applied there as well & they haven't even sent out acceptances, they're still reviewing applications! It's still a waiting game for some of us .
I'm just going to say what we're all thinking.... How do they treat the students after they are accepted, if they are already treating the students like this even before acceptance?
Admissions personnel are not professors so I wouldn't base your treatment in the program off how you are treated by the admissions staff. My suggestion is to email. I have always gotten an email back within three days of the original message. I did call once and the lady I spoke to was not very friendly, but I am sure she is flustered trying to get everything done.

I've been told that most of the professors just don't care. Rude and disrespectful. It's like they're after your money only, not to teach you really. I hope it's not that bad.

Whom did you get to speak to in admissions? I called earlier and was told in a very protocol manner that they could neither "confirm nor deny" that all admissions had been sent out.
