UT Health Pacesetter BSN Spring 2018

Published

Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).

I'll start:

I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.

I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.

God bless.

admission hold i believe will not be lifted until all documents and background check stuff is turned in and on file

Hey everyone, this question is totally random and for a friend. But if you were to want to take all the sections of the HESI test, how would you do so? Could you do that and take it at a prometric test center? (Cause I know prometric usually makes you sign up with an school ID before you take it). Can anyone help? Thank you!

I am sure you can lookup a random school ID and take the test. The school ID does not change the format of the test (I took my test at prometric though so I don't know what the tests proctored by the school look like). You will always have the option of taking every section of the test no matter what school ID you provide (at prometric). I applied to three schools that all wanted different sections as well as the learning styles and critical thinking so I signed up under one school code and made sure I knew which sections I needed to complete.

Hope this helps!

Whenever you take the test at Lonestar you get to choose what sections you take. And I've heard it's cheaper than pro metric. If I remember right it was like $30 when I took it

You guys.... still no answer from UT. It still says application under review. The wait is literally killing me.

I signed up for the HESI under the UT code and took it at Prometric. Even though UT doesn't require every section, I still had the opportunity to take all of them. Hope that helps!

Everyone, thank you so much for all the replies and help!

Did it also allow you to take the critical thinking section? Because I took it under Prariew View's code once at Prometric and it only allowed me to take their specific section and critical thinking so I ended up having to retake the HESI under UTHealth's code because Prariew View didnt require a vocab section.

It will be worth it when you get that acceptance email! Don't lose hope!!

There was no way to know what classes would transfer because they sent out the evaluations so late. Yes HCC's winter session ends on 01/10/17. I will have to go through the whole admission process with another community college so I don't consider that an option for me :( I'll keep you posted once I hear from them.

I'm not sure if you've tried to look into CLEP, but they will accept it if it is on a college transcript, say from HCC. The only time they will not accept is if it is for a science course. At $85 it is worth looking into. Best of luck! I'm hoping I am able to get the credit through the syllabus for the Lifespan Growth and Development prerequisite, but since I took my class in 2011, I no longer have the copy.

I need to look at all my options. I am not certain that if I wait to take a class during the spring I will be granted admission again for the summer.

Good luck to all of those waiting to hear back! I hope y'all get good news soon. :)

I took the HESI A2-V2 in July under UTH's code and there was not a critical thinking section. I was planning to apply to Lonestar and to Coleman, but b/c there wasn't a CT part I couldn't. I say take the HESI at lonestar because of the cost and b/c you will get 5 hrs to take the test instead of 4 hrs.

I took mine under TAMU at prometric and I was able to take every section

Hello everyone! Has anyone received a response or email about when we might be able to pay the $200 deposit?

Hope this is a good week for everyone waiting on a response for admission!
