Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).
I'll start:
I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.
I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.
God bless.
That's amazing that you've been able to apply to all of those schools considering how the requirements seem to vary from school to school. You said UTH is your first choice. Do you mind me asking why you would choose UTH over UTMB or TAMU?
The main thing is taking both the HESI and TEAS, which wasn't too bad. Anyways, my decision is based on rotations and clinical experiencing. UTH is one of the only schools that has a specific class and rotation on high acuity patients. (other colleges probably have options for this, but not a rotation completely devoted to it) Also they have a CRNA program, I don't know if this is something I want to do, but if it is it will be nice to be an alumni applying for the program compared to an external applicant.
Called and asked yesterday, lady said they would mail out decisions ON November 15th...! Pretty sure it was just to get me off her back but ugh....
This is my 3rd time applying and this is the response you get every time. They must set a date, but I have yet to see notifications go out less than a couple weeks from their date. In the past they notified people of acceptance, denial, & wait list 3-4 weeks earlier so they had time to receive letters of intent and fill spots from the wait list by the date they originally gave. Since they extended the deadline a couple weeks due to Harvey I expected the date to be later than normal, but I still think it will be well before November 15.
