Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).
I'll start:
I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.
I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.
I thought UTMB had sent out all acceptance letters weeks ago. Or do you mean provisional acceptance until all requirements such as immunizations are met?
You're probably right. I applied to the summer program in 2018 so that is what I was referring to. I had one individual state that they had interviewed for a spring spot four weeks ago, so I am not sure if all acceptances have been sent out.
I was hoping someone heard something by now! jsigg728 .. What schools did you apply to? I still haven't heard from Prairie View either . I've emailed them but they said they're still reviewing applications. Ugh! The wait is killing me!!!
Hello all, this is my first time posting. Has anyone had trouble logging onto their portal today? I'm sure it's fine, we are all just ready to hear something very soon... Good luck to everyone.
I tried calling them yesterday and they didn't even hear my question out and just shut me down by saying that we would hear something by November 15.
However, I was reading some old forms and whatever deadline they were given, people who had been waitlisted heard back by that deadline also; and those who were accepted got around 10 days to accept. Based on that, I assume we should hear back soon (hopefully).

TAMU and UTMB. Waitlisted at TAMU and have an interview next week with UTMB. UTH is my first choice.

That is understandable. They had to deal with Harvey and I am sure they get nothing but calls about when they are going to send out decisions. We just need to be patient and give them the time they need to make an informed decision on who should be admitted.
Has anyone heard if they have been accepted, denied, or wait listed yet? I was told any time between now and Nov 15th they will be sending out emails. I am on pins and needles over here waiting! fingers crossed!
