UT Health Pacesetter BSN Spring 2018

Published

Yes, it is extremely early to begin talking about the Spring 2018 class, however, I thought it would be nice if we could all get together here and go through our pre-req/application/acceptance journey. It would be fun to lend support, chronicle our stresses and excitements and see how everything unfolds for us from now until the first day of class (assuming we get accepted).

I'll start:

I'm taking my pre-reqs at Lonestar (10 hrs for Spring, 14 hrs for Summer). I plan to take 18 hrs for Fall and will be testing out of 15 hrs via CLEP. I work PRN in a Critical Care unit at a major hospital. I will be taking the HESI in May; once Spring semester ends. Lastly, I have high hopes to be accepted into the Honors program once I am eligible to apply, since I have a deep interest in research.

I hope to hear from some of you! The application deadline is September 1 and there is a webinar info session at 10am tomorrow.

God bless.

ALSO for those of you checking your email every 5 minutes like I did, last cohort we got our first wave of acceptances on May 23rd, which was a Tuesday at 5 PM (it seems to be the pattern) and they told us we weren't gonna find out until I think June 15th so there's a good chance y'all can hear something by tomorrow. CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL. I didn't even get my "acceptance" email (which weirdly I got 2, one from a Christina Carrozza and one from JoAnn Mendoza) until the next day at 2pm. But I had an email in my junk from that first wave the night before that told me that there has been a "change to my admission status on myUTH" and I saw it the next morning lol

@annacharris. Would you mind sharing your stats? Since you've been accepted it could give us a better idea of the kind of stats they are looking for. What's a typical week for you? .. Thanks for commenting :)

Looks like nothing is being sent out today :(

Yeah sure!

HESI: 91

GPA:3.6

Science GPA: 3.75

Honestly idk what exactly they look at cause there was people who had just the same or better than I have and they didn't get in so who knows. But my typical week for this semester

Monday: Health Assessment 8-9 and then there's multiple labs so it can start at either 9:15, 11:30 or 1:45.

Tuesday: Adult Health Care I: 8-12

Wednesday: Pharm: 8-12 & Patho: 1-4

For the first 5 or so weeks, you'll have adult Care lab on Fridays that usually start at 8. Then once clinical starts you have it either on Thursday Friday or Saturday.

I will say I spend most of my free time studying for whatever is coming next. Cramming will not work for you, but it's not too bad

I wonder exactly what they are looking for! Either way, congrats on getting accepted:) .. The schedule seems a bit hectic but after getting used to it it'll become routine. Hoping we do hear something tomorrow, I'm so ready to know!

Thank you! And it's not as crazy as it sounds. It's pretry okay to manage, it's literally all about time management

Thanks, that's good to hear! Tomorrow may be the day, I'm so excited yet so nervous. If anyone gets an email please post ! Good Luck :)

Just to clarify...what site is being checked for admission status? Is it: https://apply.uth.tmc.edu/psp/applyuth/APPLYUTH/CS_20/h/?tab=UT_CS_NVT_APPLY_SIGNON

Thanks!

I think that's the one, or at least that's the one I've been checking!
