Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

Just a heads-up - tomorrow is the due day to apply! Is everyone done with their application?

Hi everyone

I also applied for Summer 2018 and was denied. I'm praying I get in this Fall. My stats are

Pre-req GPA 3.63

Science GPA 3.75

Hesi overall 91.2

-Reading 96

-Grammar 82

-Vocab 86

-A&P 96

-Math 96

Good luck to everyone

Looking at your stats, it makes no sense to me why you would be denied admission!

I also currently have my Associates of Applied Science and LVN license

No the waiting begins. Based on the other forums, seems like end of May is when we'll know who got accepted :(

Hi, I am planning on applying for Spring 2019 (still working on science prereqs). I just wanted to ask y'all since you already applied about how GPA is calculated. I have two previous degrees from USC (University of Southern California). I had my previous transcript evaluated already so I would know which courses from my previous degree would transfer and which courses I had to take. For science GPA, I understand that is the science requirements such as AP, Microbiology, Chem, etc. for the overall GPA, do they just calculate the overall GPA of the requirement courses and pre-requisite courses, or do you think they would include my GPAs from all the classes of my other degrees? Just a bit confused and wanted some input from those further along in the process than me.

Thanks!

Great stats! Did you take Critical thinking just because or was it required for some school? I didn't take CT since UT Health does not require it.

It is not required as long as what I have researched on their website, but I just take it because my Lonestar College's version required critical thinking in Hesi test, and I had plenty time left ^^! But I did see a lot of people took it in advance because it did not affect the score overall, and as I remembered, some people did say that UTHealth considers critical thinking as one important element, not required but recommended.

Hey everyone! I also applied for the first time at UTH Fall 2018. I am still finishing my prereqs this semester at HCC. I have worked full time as a medical assistant at a clinic for the last 10 years. UTH is my first choice so I'm extremely nervous! Good luck to everyone!

Here are my stats

Overall GPA: 3.72

Science GPA: 4.0 (so far)

HESI Overall: 93%

Math: 92%

A&P: 92%

Vocab: 94%

Grammar: 94%

Reading Comp: 94%

Looking at previous forums, I don't think they take into account your whole college career for the overall GPA. There has been people with overall GPAs of 2 point something and they still got in. I think only the GPA for the 60 hours of required prerequisites (what they call nursing prerequisites), and then the science GPA are taken into account. Now I don't know if your science GPA goes into the nursing GPA or not, but I think it does.

Your stats look great! You should have no problem getting accepted!

Hi everyone, this is also my first time applying to UTHealth. I have a question- if accepted into the fall 2018 program, will we go to school fall, spring, summer, and graduate in the fall of 2019?

Hi! Good luck on your application! Do you mind sharing your stats?

In regards to the program: Fall 2018 semester starts in August 2018. Since Pacesetter program lasts four semester, I would assume that Fall 2018 class will graduate at the end of Fall 2019 (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall).
