I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!
I am applying for the fall with following stats:
Prereq GPA 3.65
Science GPA 4.00
HESI (just took it last Friday):
Reading 90
Vocab 92
Grammar 84
Math 96
AP 100
I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.
Good luck everyone!
I just received a transcript evaluation! I thought I wasn't going to receive one because I know some of y'all received one weeks ago!But a have a question. Do any of y'all's eval say "at least one requirement has not been satisfied"? Just curious. I just called asking about it and they said it's because I'm still taking some of the prereqs.
Also, I was surprised to see that they actually calculate any retaken classes into the overall GPA. I had a D in history from my first semester in college and they calculated that into the GPA, even though I retook that class. My overall GPA went from a 3.83 to a 3.69 because of that one class :/
They told me over the phone that they ONLY use your highest scoring grade on any retakes to calculate your GPA.
Are you sure it's because of the history class? Now I'm worried. I had to retake four courses that I had failed in my first semester in college which was years ago. I triple checked that they accepted retakes and that they weren't calculated into your GPA.

I'm pretty sure it's because of the history class because the only other possible grades are 2 Bs on College Algebra and Biology. Also the college I go to only takes the highest grade for any class to calculate the GPA, and there it shows my GPA is a 3.83. Did you receive an eval? On mine there's 3 different GPAs: overall, nursing, and science. For the nursing GPA they only took the highest grades, but for the overall GPA I think they took all the grades from all the classes, including the one I retook.
Hi everyone, I also received a course evaluation. I still have some courses I have left to complete in the summer. There's no need to notify them of this right? I just send them the transcripts once the courses are done? Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum! Yes, I don't think you need to notify them of that. I think I read in past forums that if you get accepted and are still taking classes your acceptance is conditional pending completion of the courses. But I would call to hear directly from them just to be sure.

Haven't received mine yet.
So what is a nursing GPA? On their website they only mention two: the prerequisite GPA and science GPA. So is the nursing GPA all your prerequisites without the science courses?
And the overall is for all Prereq and science GPA?
I wonder if they rank us based off of the overall GPA. honestly I wouldn't have applied if I knew they were going to take an overall GPA. Mine is too low to be competitive because I failed those courses years ago.
From their website:
- 2.75 GPA or higher in the required 60 hours of nursing prerequisites.
- 3.0 GPA or higher in the required science prerequisites.
So then the nursing GPA is the Prereq GPA and that includes the sciences. I wonder what the overall GPA is. I bet it's calculated from all the courses you've ever taken.

The nursing GPA is all of the prerequisites, yes. I don't know if the sciences go into the nursing GPA or only the science GPA. The overall GPA is everything combined from what I understand. It's all so confusing!! I think the sciences and Hesi score are more important than the other GPAs.
