UT Health Pacesetter BSN Fall 2018

Published

I haven't seen a topic for the UT Health Fall 2018 program, so here it is!

I am applying for the fall with following stats:

Prereq GPA 3.65

Science GPA 4.00

HESI (just took it last Friday):

Reading 90

Vocab 92

Grammar 84

Math 96

AP 100

I am making a career shift with a BS in Chemistry that I got from UH Downtown.

Good luck everyone!

okay thank you! I've been freaking myself out haha.

Haha no problem!

I still have yet to receive a degree evaluation. Should I be worried about that? Or does it not really matter.

No, I wouldn't worry too much about it. A lot of people never receive one.

Oh okay, thanks! I now won't be so anxious to check the mail now haha

I'm in the same boat...no eval yet. When did you apply?

Hi guys! I don't have my GPA in front of me at the moment but I would guess that cumulative it's about a 3.75. I finished my BS in Biochemistry and Genetics at A&M last year, but decided about six months ago to pursue nursing. I've been taking prereqs and after May I should be done with those!

My HESI scores are as follows:

A&P 92

Vocab 96

Math 98

Grammar 100

Reading 94

As of the middle of May I will have completed three classes (A&P I&II and development) since applying. Is it worth it to send them a new transcript when those grades post? Would it even make a difference?

I have two C's and one F in my entire collegiate academic career and my cumulative gpa is 3.51, pre nursing is 3.8, science is 4.0. Don't be discouraged just because you don't have a near perfect academic past. People make mistakes and I'm sure UT looks at a lot of different aspects of your transcript. Like did you have a job? How many classes were you taking at the time? Any previous degrees? How many times have you retaken things...Etc. Embrace yourself and your application and own it. I didn't know they look at your entire cumulative until about 2 weeks ago. I am aware I'm not as "competitive" as I thought I was, but I'm still confident! I just rejected my spot at LSC Tomball this morning. I'm working on my TEAS exam review now. Anyone have any tips?

TEAS is fun! :) lol it's not too bad. Have you taken the practice test A and B? I took practice test A and I feel like it helped a lot.

So you're implying it's totally worth it to buy the two practice tests? I saw the like $100 price tag and was willing to skip it, since the test itself is like what $100? I have the book from ATI, but I'll buy the practice tests if they're worth it.

IMHO yes, it is worth it! You'll get a chance to take the test twice. Also, after taking the practice test you'll be familiar with the format of the test, wording of the questions, and most importantly - your weaknesses. Each practice test is $46 - I just bought practice test A and it was enough.

You got 87 on HESI, which is a good score. Focus on your weaknesses and you'll do great!

Thank you for the TEAS advice! I didn't know you could buy each test separately! (:

Yay! At Midnight it's May! Here's hoping we know in 24 days!

I can't wait! This wait is so painful :(
